Hello I'm Riyaz, working as a Business Development & Marketing Manager at a startup. Recently I came across the concept of RevOps when one of our clients was looking for a RevOps consultant. It sparked my curiosity to learn more about this role and how Revenue Operations frameworks are built.

I’m currently exploring RevOps to understand how it aligns sales, marketing, and operations, and I’d love to learn from this community. Any guidance, resources, or insights on building a RevOps framework would be greatly appreciated as I aim to create more value for my company and grow in this space.

Hello! I'm Diego. Currently I'm working as a CX and Sales Analyst in a Brazil developer company. I already do a lot of data management and reporting in my current role, but I wish to step to a more operational job (Sales Ops, RevOps). I see the Revenue Operations certification as a great way to get more knowledge to prepare me for a role in this areas.

Hello, my name is Ariana and I am a Sales Administrator in the building materials industry the US. Currently, my company does not have a Revenue Operations team or even specialist despite having over 500 employees! I'm also fairly new to the company and saw the missed opportunity. As a result, I'm here to learn as much as I can about RevOps to be an asset to the company. I've only just started learning about RevOps, so I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, but I hope HubSpot's courses can help with that. While I don't have any podcast recommendations, I've got four eyes waiting to dive into any recommendations the community has for me.

Hi, this is Anjali. In my last role, I worked as a Sales Team Lead at a startup(SaaS) where we often faced operational chaos due to the absence of a dedicated function to manage data, processes, and systems. As a result, everyone had to wear multiple hats to help get the product off the ground. This experience sparked my interest in Revenue Operations (RevOps), and I’m now looking to transition into this field. I’m here to learn, gain a deeper understanding, and connect with experienced professionals who can help me navigate and grow in RevOps.

Hi, I'm Stephanie Jordan and I'm currently working as a marketing and operations manager within a B2B production and marketing services business.

I've always felt empowered when I'm able to see marketing ideas turn into revenue growth. It's what drove me to carve out the role I have now, but lately I've been feeling the need for a change. Diving deeper into the data and ai enablement that's becoming so common within the rev ops community sounds like just the kind of challenge I need.

Newsletter wise, I would recommend subscribing to "The Marketing Operations Strategist" by @SaraMcNamara on Linkedin. She has over a decade of experience in the RevOps and Marketing Ops sector and she shares weekly insights into building system architecture, implementing AI in a way that will 5x your productivity instead of "replacing your job", and a whole lot more.

I'm looking to strengthen my rev ops knowledge overall, connect with other professionals, and leverage those oportunities in my current career pivot.

What’s your current role?
I am the Office Manager of a sleep diagnostic and respiratory support practice. I oversee daily operations, coordinate patient services, manage financial records, and handle administrative reporting.

What industry do you currently work in?
I work in the healthcare industry, specifically in sleep diagnostics and respiratory therapy.

What excites you most about Data Management & Reporting?
I like how organized data helps the business run smoothly. When financials and reports are clear, it’s easier to make good decisions, manage cash flow, and plan ahead. Good reporting also reduces stress during audits and tax time.

Do you have a favorite blog, podcast, video series, or newsletter that you would recommend to other professionals interested in Data Management & Reporting?
I usually follow practical accounting and small business resources. I prefer simple, real-world content that focuses on financial organization, bookkeeping tips, and improving office systems.

Is there any new content that you’re working on right now?
I’m currently working on strengthening our financial tracking and year-end reconciliation process. I’m also improving how we organize digital and hard-copy records to make reporting more efficient.

What are you hoping to get out of this study group?
I’m hoping to learn better systems for organizing data, improving reporting accuracy, and possibly automating parts of our process. I also look forward to learning from others and sharing ideas that make office management more efficient.

Hello everyone,

I'm delighted to join this community of data and reporting professionals. I'm looking forward to learning with you all and sharing insights from my work in higher education and entrepreneurship development.

My Current Role
I serve as the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Employment Development (CEED) at Jimma University, one of Ethiopia's leading research-intensive universities. In this role, I lead our team in designing and implementing programs that equip students and youth with entrepreneurial mindsets, 21st-century skills, and pathways to meaningful employment or enterprise creation.

Industry Context
We operate at the intersection of higher education, youth employment, and enterprise development. Our work spans incubation services, skills training (digital literacy, financial literacy, green skills), community-based entrepreneurship projects like our "Waste to Wealth" initiative, and fostering linkages between graduates and industry partners. We're deeply engaged in addressing the real-world challenge of graduate unemployment in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa region.

What Excites Me About Data Management & Reporting
For me, data is ultimately about impact and storytelling. What excites me most is the power of well-managed data to:

  • Demonstrate tangible outcomes: track how many youth we've trained and employed within one year, how many enterprises we've incubated, and most importantly, how many jobs have been created.

  • Inform better program design: Using evidence from tracer studies and monitoring to refine our training curricula and support services.

  • Build credibility with partners: When we approach funders like the Mastercard Foundation or development partners like GIZ, robust data transforms our narratives into compelling, evidence-backed cases for investment.

A Resource Recommendation
One resource I've found invaluable is the "Monitoring and Evaluation for Learning" podcast by Innovate MRM. It offers practical, real-world discussions on how organizations in the Global South are using MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) systems to adapt and improve their programs. The episodes on "Data Visualization for Non-Technical Audiences" and "Using Mobile Technology for Field Data Collection" have been particularly useful for our context.

What I'm Currently Working On
We're currently developing a comprehensive beneficiary tracking system that integrates data from our incubation program, skills training cohorts, and enterprise follow-ups. The goal is to move beyond anecdotal success stories to a dynamic dashboard that tracks the longitudinal journey of our participants—from training through enterprise launch to sustained employment or business growth. I'm also preparing a concept note for the African Cities Innovation Fund, which will require a strong M&E framework.

My Goals for This Study Group
I'm hoping to:

  1. Learn practical solutions for common data challenges in resource-constrained settings (like offline data collection, data quality assurance, and low-cost digital tools).

  2. Exchange ideas with peers facing similar issues in tracking impact across diverse programs.

  3. Explore best practices in communicating data to different stakeholders—from university leadership to international donors.

  4. Discover new tools and approaches that can make our reporting more efficient and insightful.

I'm very much looking forward to learning from your experiences and sharing what works (and what doesn't!) from our journey at Jimma University CEED.

Warm regards,
Ahmed Mohammed
Director, Center for Entrepreneurship and Employment Development (CEED)
Jimma University, Ethiopia
