Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Lesson 1_Introduction to Revenue Operations (RevOps).png

Here at HubSpot, we define Revenue Operations, or RevOps, as the people, processes, systems, and data that control how your business generates revenue.

That means that if you work at an organization that generates revenue, then you have RevOps at play in your business!

RevOps enables you to not only strategically improve your customer experience, but it also lets you powerfully and intentionally scale your business.

So, as I kick-off this conversation about RevOps, I’d love to learn the following about you:

  1. What’s your name, and where are you based?
  2. How do you define RevOps?
  3. What do you hope to learn in HubSpot Academy’s Revenue Operations Certification?

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Hi everyone, this is Vineeth.

I'm from the United States. From my perspective, RevOps is the strategic approach that is diversified across different departments like sales, marketing, finance, and customer success. The main approach is to increase revenue growth for companies by using data and tools to align company goals and derive insights for a good customer experience. I’m excited to learn in this course, explore RevOps process optimization techniques to align a unified framework to predict the revenue growth of the company, and gain experience on CRM and automation tools to build frameworks that support a customer-centric approach.

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

This message is by Anirudh from Bangalore.

So Reops feels like a lot, it's every parts of the business, with the customer experience at the core. With any business comes the sales, marketing and service, these all create a lot of data and moreover we need these functions data to build a scaleable operations, and further enhance the growth of our company. Revops has become like a really integral role to the revenue of the business, all while enhancing the employe experience, altought mainly focusing on the best customer experience or providing better value for succes of the customers and increasing the trust for increased brand perception and revenue.

Can't stress much the fact that Revops still feels a lot more and a really integral part of the organisation.

Talking about me learning the Revos certification, yeah I hope to go through each of the content and learn all that I can about Revops and how it helps the business.

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

1. Sam - Ontario, Canada

2. To me, RevOps is a holistic approach that brings together cross functional teams (Sales, Customer Success and Marketing) to break the silos they often work in. Unifying them in a way that helps to create more visibility, strategic thinking and decision making to create operational efficiency within existing or new processes.

3. As an Enablement Leader working under the RevOps umbrella, I'm looking to strengthen my understanding of RevOps as a function and the ways that I can make a deeper contribution within my organization. I want to learn what data is important to track, and how it can be examined to both better identify challenge areas, and measure program/launch/process change impact.

Al, South Africa.

RevOps is a data and process view of Sales, Marketing and Customer Services. However, as it all has to do with revenue generation and safeguarding, Finance should overlap here, to a large degree.

I want to get an overview to see how I can use it in my professional life.

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Hey all 👋

  1. I'm Beth - I'm in Fort Collins, CO
  2. RevOps = the practice of examining data and making decisions from that data that helps to further unify your internal team, and improve the customer's experience.
  3. My current company desparately needs RevOps...we've been floundering and flip flopping org structures and what we call our offering and basically trying to change everything but what actually needs to happen - which is that we need a RevOps person. I have wanted to be this person for the past 2 years, and as they're asking me about what I think about yet another structure change coming up...I'm hoping this course will give me the information and confidence to walk into the next meeting and say, "you need me to be our RevOps person," and have them actually listen. I know this could finally solve our problems as an org, and it's where I want to go for my career. I really want to be a proper RevOps pro.

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Hey there, I'm Lindsey, based on Vancouver Island, BC.

To me, RevOps is about aligning the operations of marketing, sales, and customer success so they function as one cohesive system. It’s focused on using data to drive smarter decisions and building processes that support growth across all customer-facing teams.

I’m looking to get hands-on with how HubSpot supports RevOps in the real world. My goal is to build the skills and confidence to step into a RevOps role and bring meaningful value to cross-functional teams.
