Reporting on marketing email 'not sent' metric

MKerkar
Member

Hello everyone!

I'm in the process of creating a report on the marketing email "not sent" metric. Currently, the "not sent" metric is not directly available as a property and cannot be directly pulled into a report. However, the email events API overview article does mention the email event type as "dropped" and the associated property as "dropped reason" that lists the reason for email not sent.

Email Events API Overview

I'm attempting to copy these "dropped reason" values into a custom property using a custom-coded workflow. Could anyone assist with this process?

Hi @MKerkar, I hope that you are well!

Great question, thanks for asking the Community!

So, you'd like to copy the "dropped" email event type into a custom property via a custom coded workflow action.

I found a similar thread "Marketing events - copy to Contact Property?" where @karstenkoehler is also suggesting going through custom coded actions via workflow for this.

I also wanted to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation: Hi @miljkovicmisa, @khookguy, @HFisher7 and @louischausse do you have code suggestions to help @MKerkar, please?

Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you so much and have a lovely day!

Best,
Bérangère
