Hey @NirbhayT  good question.

When starting with Operations Hub Starter, the best practice is to keep things simple.

Begin by defining your source of truth for each core object (contacts, companies, deals). Don’t try to sync every property map only the fields you’ll actually use across teams.

Set up clear naming conventions and property descriptions early. It sounds small, but this prevents confusion later when workflows and reports expand. HubSpot’s guide on data sync setup is a good reference https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/connect-and-use-hubspot-data-sync

Leverage workflow extensions in Ops Hub Starter for “data hygiene” automations things like formatting phone numbers, normalizing country names, or copying values between properties. This keeps your CRM clean without needing manual updates. HubSpot has a quick walkthrough here https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/create-workflows

Finally, think ahead.

Ops Hub’s native Data Sync (built on the old PieSync engine) works very well for lightweight connections. But as companies scale, many RevOps leaders hit limits restricted field coverage, no direct database/ERP connectors, and only basic conflict handling.

In those cases, purpose-built two-way sync tools like Stacksync become part of the “next level” of best practices. Stacksync keeps HubSpot, Salesforce, ERPs, and SQL databases consistent in real time, without the API bottlenecks or manual reconciliation that usually creep in.

Let me know if this makes sense or if you’d like a more detailed playbook tailored to your exact goals. Hope this helps you get off to a smooth start!
