How to automate location formatting issues

We have over 134,000 suggestions for correcting address information.

That's never going to be a manual task, how can I automate it?

Hi @OJ_ONT,

I would suggest checking out this knowledge base article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/format-your-data-with-workflows

You may need to create a custom formula for address issues. Your biggest challenge might be finding consistency in the formatting issues. For example, if you have 134K records and hundreds of completely different formats across those records with no patterns, it can be tricky.

Hi @OJ_ONT,

I think we can approach the problem in two ways:

1. We could try to find consistency in the formatting issues, as mentioned by @Josh , and then use a HubSpot workflow to format the properties. If all the addresses belong to the same country, for example, I believe this would be the optimal solution.

2. A more global solution would be to extract the data from HubSpot and process it using an API like Google Places or USPS Address Verification. While this approach is more comprehensive, it can come with costs and requires some technical knowledge. Someone with Python skills should be able to handle the validation.

But I agree—given the volume, manual processing is definitely not an option!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! 😊
