I was trying to create a report that shows how many deals were created by our SDRs, but as you can see below this is not possible right now in Hubspot.
So now my Idea was to create a new deal-property called "Deal created by"
And then I wanted to create an aoutomatic workflow for every new Deal thats in our Sales-Pipeline:
The issue is that I can't set the Conact owner to the creator of the deal.
In that case, would this contact-based workflow work?
As a disclaimer, this would copy the contact owner into all deals whenever the number of deals changes, not just the most recent one. (This is due to how workflows are set up and cannot be changed.)
Best regards!

Thank you very much for your help. It doesn't quite get to the heart of the matter. I want to copy the Contact owner into the Deal created by field. Deal creator and Deal owner are not the same in our Sales Pipeline.
In that case, would this contact-based workflow work?

Workaround for "Created by" Deal Report
SOLVE
Let me check it out. Thanks!
One question, why do I need to enable the Re-nerollment? Is the workflow executed only once for a contact, even if the trigger criteria are met by subsequent changes (e.g. adding a deal)?
Do you want to copy the Contact owner into the Deal created by field or the Deal owner?
First, my recommendation would be to re-create the Deal created by field and select the field type HubSpot user (if you haven't done so yet).
Next, navigate to Menu > Automation > Workflows and set up a deal-based workflow like the one below:
This would copy (once) whatever the first Deal owner is – into the Deal created by field.
If you switch this workflow on and enroll existing deals, keep in mind that the information will only be accurate from now on. For existing deals, the latest owner will be copied once. For new deals, it will be the first owner (which should usually be the deal creator).
Let me know if this answers your question!
