The Watch time report - respects tab status (active vs inactive)?

SOLVE

Does anyone know if the "time to" metrics (such as in the "Watch Time" report) respect active tab status? I'm trying to figure out if this report would include time spent in an inactive tab - meaning, if a user hits our page in a new tab (which is active), then opens a new tab in the same window for some other purpose (making the tab where our page is shown inactive), would the time increments while it's inactive be counted?

Hi @GRiordon,

I do not think that the time spent on a page or other time metric is split into active and inactive. One way to solve this on a web page is to use a tool such as Hotjar that will record a user's session.

Cheers,
