Running revenue reports with varying monthly splits

Hi,
I am hitting a blocker when it comes to running revenue reporting. I have a client that wants to know the running revenue of the campaigns they sell. These campaigns can start and finish on various dates, and cross over months. What we want to find is the breakdown in revenue between the months for the P&L.

For example:

A campaign runs for 12 days between the 25th july and the 5th august with a total budget of 10k.

Campaign starts: 25th july (7 out of 12 days in july)
Campaign ends: 5th aug (5 out of 12 days in aug)
July: (7/12)*10 = 5.83K
Aug: (5/12)*10 = 4.17K

We want to show this month split in the revenue. Is there a way to create calculation properties for this? We have already created the date picker campaign start/end properties, as well as a time-between duration property at deal level.

Thanks!

Hi @BérangèreL,

Thanks for your response! This scenario is similar indeed, but they are looking for the difference between months, rather than the split in revenue of a specific deal over various weeks/months. I have since found a solution over 2 months splits, using a wide range of workflows and calculation properties. However, if there is a quicker work around someone knows of I would be happy to adopt!

Cheers!

Hi @KBryan8, I hope that you are well!

Great question, thanks for asking the Community!

I have found a similar thread "Monthly Recurring Revenue - reporting" where the reply from @MPalmer6 might help you.

I'd like to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation: Hi @ChristinaKay, @Alex_Elborn and @OPerek-Clark do you have other suggestions to help @KBryan8, please?

Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you so much and have a brilliant day!

Best,
Bérangère
