Reporting on Forecast Submission

My company uses the forecast submission tool for tracking our commits, closed won, etc. One important piece that I cannot seem to find is reporting on the forecast my reps submit week over week. I think it is imperative that we can view what everyone submits week over week to track change (why one deal was submitted to the forecast week 1 but not week 2 for example, as well as the total value). Is this readily available and can be added to dashboards by individuals/team/all teams?

The forecast tool is great for tracking current commits, but it doesn’t really keep a history of what each rep submitted week to week. There’s no built-in report or dashboard that shows changes over time, like why a deal disappeared from one week’s forecast.

What most teams do is set up a simple workflow or script to capture a weekly snapshot of each rep’s forecast, total commit, best case, pipeline stage, etc. You can push that data into a custom object or an external sheet and then build reports to compare weeks. If you’re comfortable with the API, pulling data from the forecast submissions endpoint once a week works well, too. That’s pretty much the only reliable way to track changes over time right now.

To report on the forecasts your reps submit week over week in HubSpot, you can use Historical Trend Reporting. First, enable Historical Trending for Forecasting Items in Setup by searching for 'Historical Trending'. Then, create a report using the 'Forecasting Items with Historical Trending' report type. This will allow you to track changes in forecast amounts over time.

I do not see where to turn this on. Can you provide any more guidance on how to get there?

I am very surprised that HubSpot does not capture history. As I understand the point of forecasting, having the ability to see history over time should be an out of the box feature. Doing a snapshot sounds well and good, but I was hoping for the capability of seeing what deals were included in the forecast with the deal stage.
