Report for Company Revenue vs Goal

Is there anyway to create a report that shows the all-time company Revenue against a goal/target?

The challenge I am having is that all the HubSpot reports only seem to show revenue closed in a particular year against a goal whereas we need to see all-time revenue.

E.g. if we have a goal of reaching $100k MRR by the end of 2024, we started 2024 on $40k and we have so far closed an additional $40k in 2024. The report needs to show a total of $80k achieved against $100k.

Hey @RaulQais

This sounds like a pretty common issue that I’ve seen people run into when using the Goals tool in HubSpot. It can throw up some strange numbers if it’s not set up just right. But don’t worry, it sounds like there’s a straightforward solution here.

Here’s how I’d approach it:

  • Adjust Date Filters:

    • First off, if your report is only showing revenue closed within a particular year, it might just be a matter of adjusting the date filters in your report.
    • Change the filter from “This Year” to “All Time”, and that should allow the report to include all revenue data, not just the current year.
  • Building a Gauge Report:

    • To answer your specific question about tracking all-time revenue against a goal, I’d recommend using a Gauge Chart in the Custom Report Builder.
    • Here’s how you can set that up:
      • Choose the pipeline you’re working with (you can include multiple pipelines if needed).
      • Build a deal-based report and filter it by the closed won stage or whatever stage you’re using to mark deals as won.
      • Use the amount field as your metric so it tracks the revenue value.
      • Set your goal at $100k (or whatever your target is), and the report will automatically show how much you’ve achieved so far.
  • Total Revenue Calculation:

    • For example, if you’ve closed $40k before 2024 and another $40k so far in 2024, the report will show you a total of $80k out of $100k. It won’t break it down by year, but it will show the total revenue you’ve achieved toward the goal.

If I’m missing any key details or if your situation is a bit more complex, feel free to share more context. But based on what you’ve shared, this should be a pretty simple fix with a gauge report using closed won deals and your revenue goals.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you need any more details!

Will this ever be offered? The reporting on Goals/Forecasting is very limited.

@Shadab_Khan that was what I was looking for I just couldn't see the guage report option! I wonder if it's because I selected multiple data sources when building the custom report or just didn't look properly, either way thanks for your help.

It doesn't look like there's a way to have the guage 'fill up' as more revenue is closed but that's a minor issue.

Cheers

Glad it was helpful, you can just leave the Max empty and it will be more dynamic but I always recommend to set a max based on your forecasting
