Product property showing as no value in reports

SOLVE

Good morning,

I have an issue with reporting on line-items.

I have created a product property called "Product category",
Group: product information, Field type: drop-down select. This property contains two options, "Core" and "Add-on". I have then applied one of these options to each of our products in the product library. 

However, when I do a line item report and try to categorise my products by this property it shows up as "No value" no matter how I structure the data in the report.

Line times and products are two separate things. A line item is essential a variant of a product that gets created when a product is added to a deal.

 

When you make changes to your products in the product library this will not update already created line items, as these were created from products before you made the changes. Simply pit, they do not contain this new product information.

 

The only way around this would be to re-add these line items, this will pull through the new property and in turn will show up on your report.

Hi @Linder1,

Even though you have set the product category property correctly for your products, in HubSpot, product properties do not automatically sync with the line items in deals.

 

To check if the product category is populated for the line items associated with your deals, go to a deal that contains a line item and confirm if the property value (Product Category) is populated. If it shows "No value" here, then the property value is not inherited from the library itself. 

 

In this case, you need to update the line items in deals manually or with the help of a workflow.
