We currently have Deal Pipelines set up for two different teams (Team A/Deal Pipeline A, & Team B/Deal Pipeline B)
Although totally separate 95% of the time, occasionally, sales members from teams A & B will be involved in the same Deal.
When this happens, both users for each team needs to receive full financial credit on their team's Sales reporting, which is all set up based on their team's Pipeline. Deal splits won't work for us as they do not allow us to give both Owners 100% credit..
Right now we are solving this by creating duplicate Deal records for the same Deal. One for each pipeline/team & marking them both Closed Won.
While this works for reporting by individual Pipeline, should we ever want to see a roll-up report of total sales for all pipelines (Team A & B combined), those numbers would be artificially inflated by those duplicated Deals without some additional Advanced filtering, which we are concerned the average user trying to see total sales may not always know to do.
Does anyone have suggestions on a better way to go about doing this?
An initial thought would be to create a HubSpot User deal property.
I'm concerned this might not work for reporting purposes though; however, this solution would prevent needing to duplicate the deal. You could make the property display as a conditional property based on the 'trigger' criteria, so the user property only displays when needed. I can show you how to do this if you're not familiar with it.
Let me know if this would not work and some more clarity as to why so we can keep thinking through solutions.
Thank you for posting a detailed, well-written post.
