How to split total amount of potential sale into potential monthly revenue

Hi,

Does Hubspot have the ability to, in reporting, split a total amount of a potential sale into potential monthly revenue?

Example: Project A will be over a period of 3 months. The project is worth £50k. Month 1 we expect £10k, Month 2 we expect £20k, Month 3 we expect £10k.

Is this possible?

How to split total amount of potential sale into potential monthly revenue

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I think I found a solution using Custom Properties for Deals, and so far I think that is providing what I want.  I can't test Reporting as it looks like I need an Enterprise Sub, but I've got enough for now.

Thank you!

Hi MHMedia, I'm also trying to do the same thing. Can you explain how you setup your custom properties for this?

Thanks

How to split total amount of potential sale into potential monthly revenue

Hey AKoch3,

What we ended up doing in the end was creating a Deals Pipeline, called "Expected Revenue Forecast". We then created a column for each month, and put our expected revenues in each month. What we can now do is generate a report based on the figures in this pipeline.

Note - I'd advise against associating whatever you put in this Pipeline with company or contact if you are using a Sales Pipeline to track the actual sale. If you do, you duplicate the expected sales value of the contact / company! So we just use the Expected Revenue Forecast pipeline for title and sale amount, nothing else. Purely for reporting purposes.

I hope that helps!

How to split total amount of potential sale into potential monthly revenue

@MHMedia

If you were always splitting the revenue equally between months then you could use a calculated property to do this.

For example (total deal amount/ monthly breakdown = monthy revenue)

However, if you are dividng the revenue unequally between months then it gets a little more complicated. You would need to create a seperate number property for each month and then build custom reports that include all properties.

FOR EXAMPLE: Deal name (month 1 revenue + month 2 revenue + month 3 revenue)

HubSpot does also have a monthly recurring revenue feature with prebuilt reports if you are interested? It comes with an Enterprise subscription https://knowledge.hubspot.com/deals/track-recurring-revenue-with-revenue-analytics
