How to make it easier and smoother to edit each of items in deal record.

Hi there,

On the table of deal, we have to click at least twice, "preview"→"(a mark of pencile)" when we edit item of deal record. I think it's relatively easy and not troublesome, but some of my team members think it's a bother and prefer to manage information about deals especially some remarks on spread sheet (because they only have to place the cursor over cell if they want to edit).

How to solve this problem? Is it possible to make it easier? Or, Should i persuade team with other advantages of Hubspot? Personaly, I want to handle all information on hubspot.

Hi @Shun,

Great question! I have a couple recommendations.

First, I do like your mindset of staying within HubSpot. For this type of activity, I would rely more on the table view than the board view and take advantage of the filters feature and use the ability to show the most appropriate columns. With this approach, you can see the necessary information at the same time you would have the ability to edit properties in bulk, if applicable. Additionally when you see a field that needs changed, you can right click and open in a new tab and edit that contact record there and move on to the next. In my opinion, this would be much more efficient than trying to use the board view.

Second option is to export your deals table into excel and then re-upload after the changes have been made. This is slightly less efficient and adds the stress of constant export and import and potential issues that might arise because of that.

Happy to chat about this further if you'd like, just let me know!

Josh

We have a range of data (customer fields) that we need to collect against a Deal that reflect our lines (14) and types (4) of business.  All in all there are about 50 fields.  We set these to 0 at Deal creation through an autoamtion and the Rep only edits those relevant to their spefific Deal.  No two Deals are alike.

What I'd love is the ability to have a table 14 high by 4 wide that a Rep can edit simply to update the values quickly.

Any ideas?

Hi, Josh

I really appreciate your reply. Both of your suggestions are  helpful for me. I'll make another post if the solutions don't work in my team.

Thank you.
