Group email activities types by thread to prevent inflated activity data

Hi there, I'm working on a report to look at total number of sales activity split by activity assigned to a sales rep. This is a bar chart > count of activities split by assigned to user, broken down by activity type

What we're finding is that when we go into the activity count detail (clicking on say sales rep A's bar) , we'll see maybe 40 activities, but 5 of the 40 are basically email replies within the same email thread. 

We want to be able to count threads as just one activity as it inflates the data a lot. 

Is this possible? 

So in the above scenario, it should be 36 activities, rather than 40.

This does currently not seem to be possible, no. Neither the sales email nor the activites data source in the HubSpot report builder provides the option to break down / group by thread.
