Custom fields

I recently started reading Referral of a lifetime. In the book it advised that we catagorize our contacts into group a,b,c, and d. Is there a way to add a custom field that would allow me to do this?

You can certianly create custom properties to contain your categorization. See more info here: Create custom properties
