Change Tasks Metric in Productivity widget in Sales Dashboard

SOLVE

Currently, the way HubSpot displays the Tasks metrics in the Productivity widget in the Sales Dashboard is by the total number of open tasks due in the period of time for which you have selected, NOT based on tasks completed even though this is supposed to be a productivitiy widget so I would expect that it would show how productive my reps have been - i.e. how many tasks did they complete this week or this month, not how many tasks did they have open for that week or that month. Anyone can create 100 tasks but not actually follow up on them so that doesn't tell you anything about their productivity level.  Completing tasks is what determines how productive one is being.

My suggestion therefore is to change the "Tasks" metric to "Tasks Completed" in the Productivity widge in the Sales Dashboard and then base it on the actual date when the task was completed, not based on the due date. Recently, I tackled over 50 tasks in 1 day but because it was July 1st and they were all dated with the due date of June 30th or some other date in June, none of them showed up in the tasks report for July 1st!

Hi @susandaly

I don't believe there's a way to report on completed tasks and other activity types within one reporting widget. You would need to create your completed tasks report as a separate widget.

Yes, tasks are showing in reports based on the due date, which isn't ideal. You could perhaps make it part of your process to change due date to the completed date on completion (if completing a task early)?

Otherwise, you can submit your suggestions on how you would like task reporting to work to the Hubspot Ideas forum, which the Hubspot team review when considering implementing new features and functionality.

Hi @susandaly

It is possible to customize the Productivity widget so that it only shows the number of completed tasks.

When adding the widget click customize (or click report settings when hovering over an existing widget)

Next, add a filter to your widget (add an AND filter) which filters against Task Status is any of Completed

There are still 2 problems with that:

  1. Now my widget only shows Tasks and not the 5 other metrics that I liked to review.
  2. The task "completed" date is actually the "due date" which I think is fundamentally wrong since someone can follow up and complete a task after the due date. I completed over 50 tasks yesterday, yet my report only shows 2 because they all had a due date set in June.

Regarding #1, maybe I'm still doing something wrong and it would be great if someone can show me as I like to be a power user with software programs, but I also don't have the luxury of time of trying to figure it all out.

Thanks,

Susan
