Activity Reporting & the Date Modified Field
At my company we are trying to get a better idea of how much research and data appending activity our salespeople are engaging in. I have instructed them to use Notes to when they find articles, executive background info, or come upon research in DiscoverOrg about a prospect's product suite, but I was also hoping to find a way to report on how many records they are "touching" per day when they make changes to fields that aren't worthy of making a full Note. I considered reporting on the Date Modified field, but this is problematic because there is a system field called "Likelihood to close" on Company records that makes the Date Modified field update at random, messing up this type of reporting. Once we start doing marketing campaigns that potentially auto-append data to Company and Contact records, the Date Modified field won't work at all.
We have the Bayard Bradford Hubspot API to Microsoft Power BI connector so I can pull out basically anything that can come through the API, giving us more access to the data than regular HubSpot reporting.
-Is there a field or method of reporting that only shows when fields/records have been changed by a manual process rather than an automated one?
-Is there a way to report on when or what records are edited by a specific user? Or what specific changes they have made?
-Is here a better way of reporting on research and field editing activity that I haven't considered?
-How do you track sales activity at your company to ensure accountability?
