Activity Feed shows contact opened email when it was me opening old emails

As subject says, I noticed the activity feed will show contacts have opened my sent emails when in reality it was me going back and opening old sent emails. Is there a way to fix this so that it is accurate when it says a contact opened the email?

The linked article discusses Outlook, what about Gmail? I have the same issue. Hubspot notifies me the email was opened by the recipient, but it was really me that opened it.

As mentioned in this thread, the best step is going to be to filter your IP address in Gmail.
