I want to create a Company Property that is an average NPS score based on the NPS Property of every Contact associated with that Company. Please advise on the best way to accomplish this.

I think your biggest limitation will be the fact that you can't make a cross-object calculation property — "You can also create properties that calculate values based on your own criteria. Custom equations can only be set up for number properties within the same object for which you're creating the new property" — source.
You could look at options like:
Webhooks and workflows
Custom Code Actions
some internal integrations like Power BI or even Google Sheets and then sync back to your portal
