Forms pulling deleted data

SOLVE

I am pretty new to HubSpot but I am about to pull my hair out. I have created a form that I have embedded on my website. That works great.

When I try to use Zapier to pull the form data to create a client in my accounting software it is pulling old sample data that is not in HubSpot. I have tried deleting all data out of HubSpot and even deleting the form and starting fresh. I am still getting the sample data. See attached screenshots of sample data.

Help!

Q: Why is Zapier pulling old sample data that is not in HubSpot?.

Short A: This is normal behavior (by design).

Longer A:

Hi @melissascott, you're obviously very frustrated. Maybe take a break and grab some H2O.

Not to worry. You got this.

3 Essential Things 2 Remember When Building Zaps 4 HubSpot

-1- Zapier tests pull RECENT EVENT DATA from HubSpot
(If you don't trigger a RECENT EVENT in HubSpot, it will only ever pull test data.)

-2- Once your Zap fires on that RECENT EVENT, game over.
(You'll need to trigger a NEW recent event to get new data.)

-3- Yes. That means you must trigger a NEW EVENT in HubSpot each and every single time you want to 'test' your Zap.

(Zaps are not designed to be tinkered with once built. Think clone. Then modify clone.)

Tip:

HubSpot Datepicker date types can lead to permanent hair loss and insanity. haha
(They wreak havoc with most cloud-based integration platforms.)
