Why Isn't My Website Showing Up for My Brand Name on Search Engines?

SOLVE

Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue where my website isn't appearing in search engine results when I search for my brand name. I've tried checking my SEO settings, but I'm still not sure what's causing this problem. Has anyone else experienced this? What steps can I take to resolve this issue and ensure my website shows up when people search for my brand name? Here's a link to my website for reference: https://carbrandslogos.com/.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hey @jassonsmith there's no gurantee you'll ever display on any search engine result pages, this is entirely down to the search engine themselves. All you can do it attempt to follow some set of rules and continually optimise your site for search engine pages.

Very broad search terms like "car brand logos" will be highly competitive, so you'll need ot put in a lot of work to rank for this. I'd recomend taking a look into a free SEO course like the one on the HubSpot academy here to get a bit more familiar with SEO!

@jassonsmith Just as a bit of an aside, when I search for "car brand logos" I get this website, which seems to have basically the same branding, similar layout and keyword targeting as your website. I'm not sure if this is related to your business, but if not it might be worth working to differentiate yourself from this brand:

Hi @jassonsmith

Your site is indeed indexed, but it’s not ranking well for your brand name. This typically happens when the keyword for your brand name is highly competitive or if there are other SEO factors at play.

To improve your ranking, focus on optimizing the content on your site for your brand name. Make sure your brand name appears prominently in key areas like title tags, meta descriptions, and headers. Additionally, work on building backlinks to your site, as these can significantly boost your site's visibility and authority. Quality backlinks from reputable sources will help improve your ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs).

Regularly reviewing and updating your SEO practices can also make a big difference. For assistance with this, HubSpot offers valuable resources and tools. You can check out their SEO recommendations guide to get more tailored advice on optimizing your website effectively.

By implementing these strategies, you should see an improvement in your site’s ranking for your brand name.

Best regards!

Hi @jassonsmith

Having an exact match domain (EMD) can give you a bit of an advantage, but it's not a guaranteed ticket to the top of the SERPs anymore. Google's algorithms have evolved, and they now prioritize quality content, user experience, and backlinks over just having the exact keyword in your domain.

So, while an exact match domain might make it slightly easier to rank if your content and SEO are strong, you can’t rely on it alone. You still need to put in the work with relevant, well-optimized content and solid SEO practices to see real success.

It doesn't matter what your domain is, how easy a keyword is to rank is dependent entirely on how competitive the space is.

For example if I wanted to rank for "Cars" it would be incredibly hard to rank for as it's incredibly broad and lots of websites will be competing to rank for that.

If I wanted to rank for "wing mirrors for a 2008 golf polo in amber on main street in Easkey county sligo Ireland" I will have a far easier time ranking as there's going to be far less websites fighting for top ranking in that search.

In general in SEO it's best to target what people call long tail keywords, as these will be more specific to your business and have less competition.

Your domain and brand name are somewhat irrelevant, the brand name will be read as a keyword in your search rankings, but again if it's a competitive space it's not going to make it any easier to rank.
