I’m asking because it’s not clear to me whether there’s actually a consistent pattern behind which pages appear in “AI search” results. From what I’ve seen, results can vary a lot even for the same query in the same AI agent, depending on factors like history (stored information from previous seaches/queries), location and context.

I think a good first step would be to check whether there really is consistency across queries, and then compare across different agents (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.). That might give us a clearer idea of what makes a website more likely to appear in AI search results.
