Technical SEO - Image Resizing - Blog Template

My images on the blog sidebar are getting flagged for needing image resizing (the featured images of previous blog posts). 

Should I just remove the images from the blog sidebar for other articels or is there an efficent way to resize these images and stop getting flagged. It is just frusturating because I cannot directly resize correctly to the sidebar becuase they are the featured image.
