Parent / child page URLs for pillar / subtopic pages

SOLVE

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a parent-child page URL structure for our pillar / subtopic pages.

I can't see how to do it and I'm now wondering if hubspot supports this.

Here's what I'm aiming for:

example.com/pillar-page/ (website page targeting short-tail keyword)

example.com/pillar-page/subtopic-1/

example.com/pillar-page/subtopic-2/

example.com/pillar-page/subtopic-3/ (blog posts targeting long-tail keyword)

I can't see how to get the URLs to be created in the above way.

Unless I create a new blog in which case the /pillar-page/ URL automatically becomes a listing page which is terrible for SEO.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hey,

Good question.

Looks like what Daniel has suggested above may work for CMS pages. I don't believe you could do that on the blog any other way than what you have suggested yourself.

From an SEO perspective, it isn't something I would consider very beneficial, ie there is no real ranking benefit to having the page URL in the same folder as the pillar page. (Personal opinion) Therefore I would pick the best tools for the job. ie use the blogging tool if it is the best place to host the sub-content, even if the URL isnt in the subfolder OR use a CMS page for the sub-content if its best represented that way.

Hi,

You could add the sub-folder it manually in the URL section see below:

However, I would like to know what the Hubspot product team has to say since there should deffentely be an easier way to do this.
