Hello,

I have been checking on the Google Search Console and found that there Google has not indexed about 2.9K pages. By selecting randomly some pages to check what would be causing the problem, I couldn't figure out what would be the reason.

The specific page I have checked is within "Excluded by 'noindex' tag" category in GSC, and checking on the HubSpot side, everything seemed to look ok.

Any ideas about what would be the reason why it is not indexed and how may I resolve the issue?

Thank you!

Hi @AV11. As mentioned, the reasons could vary and without digging into your portal it's hard to say exactly why. Here's a resource I found that may help and may give you some additional information since you mentioned you're relatively new to the SEO world and all this. I find as much as I can learn, I'm better off in the long run.

Hope that helps also!

Hi @AV11,

When i'm looking at your sitemap it only has 777 pages in it.

As @danmoyle is telling, Google can let you show what pages are avalible for search when adding site: in Google Search. So for your example you should try this:

site:www.dcsplus.net. It's also possible to make is spesific and only look for example spainish pages. Then you can use site:www.scsplus.net/es

So the page you send is avalible for Search inside Google.

What could help is to remove and add the xml sitemap from Google Search Console (GSC) so it will run a new index for your pages. In some cases when you have errors inside GSC you can try and validate it again telling it to rescan the page and let Google check if problems are fixed.

@BérangèreL thanks for tagging.

Hi @AV11,

It's hard to say what could cause the problem. Do you have a link that you want to be indexed?

Thinks that are good to check are:

  • Is there a meta of noindex (<meta name="robots" content="noindex">) on your page?
    • In some cases a noindex can be added manually at the advanced options or maybe it's embedded in the template your using
  • Is your page a Website page of landing page?
    • Landing pages are not automatically added to your website sitemap. You can manually add them.
    • Website pages are automatically added to your website sitemap.
  • Is your sitemap setup and connected to Google Search Console?
  • Do you have a robots.txt setup? It's possible that this blocks your page
  • Is the page published on a temporary hubspot link? Google won't index the HubSpot temporary links.

Hope this will help? If not, sharing your page can help.

Hi @Indra,

Thank you very much for your reply! Sure, I am sharing with you one of the website pages which I have tested to see why it is not idexed: https://www.dcsplus.net/es/products/irix-travel-booking-system/irix-features .

I am kinda new when it comes to everything that is SEO-related, and initially, I have only tried to look for noindex at the advanced settings, where I couldn't find anything.

Based on the info you have shared regarding the website pages and landing pages, since this one is a website page, I assume it is automatically added to the sitemap.

Thank you once again for your time and reply. Looking forward to your response! 🙂

Hi @Indra ,

Thank you for your help!

I have started checking the included pages in the Sitemap available in HubSpot Marketing section, in order to update it afterwards within GSC.

I noticed we have " Thank you" pages included in our Sitemap and I just wanted to kindly ask your recommendation about leaving or removing " Thank you pages" from the Sitemap.

I look forward to receiving your answer.

Thank you,

Alexandra

Hi @AV11,

The purpose of a 'Thank you' page is that only visitors who filled in a form will see the 'Thank you'. This means you also don't want Google to index the page.

My recommendation is to add 'Thank you' pages to the 'Landing pages' inside HubSpot. This way it won't get into the sitemap.xml and therefor not scanned by default by GSC. You also need to apply the meta noindex so if Google finds the page it won't be scanned.

If you want them at the 'Website pages', you need to make sure to remove them from the sitemap.xml manually.

Hope this awnsers your question.

Hi @BérangèreL,

Thank you so much for responding and tagging subject matter experts! 🙂

Yes, that is correct - our website is hosted on HubSpot and some pages seem not to be indexed as per the data from GSC.

I am afraid I don't understand exactly what details of the page would help, so I am directly sharing with you the website page I am referring to:https://www.dcsplus.net/es/products/irix-travel-booking-system/irix-features

Thank you!
