Is it possible to block keywords from indexing your landing pages on Google?

SOLVE

Hi there, looking for some advice.

When I google my company name + login, 2 out of the top 3 results are ppc pages with no login functionality. Is it possible to block 'login' as a keyword on my Hubpost landing pages so that they don't index on Google for this particualr keyword.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @TCohalan

I don't think that is going to work.

I'd suggest blocking the PPC landing page from appearing on Google by including the <meta name="robots" content="noindex" /> tag on the page header or blocking the landing page on /robots.txt file.

The other way is to use the smart content on your landing page. If a visitor lands on your landing page via Google search, you can display the login link in your PPC landing page. And if they come via PPC, they don't see the login.

Thanks.

Hey,

I agree with the no index solution but just to be clear it will block that page from being in any search results pages. Not just that keyword.

For how to do this specially on HubSpot see: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/how-do-i-block-pages-from-being-indexed-by-search-engines
