Indexing Error "Duplicate without user-selected canonical" for pdf in File Manager
SOLVE
We have 3 pdf files in different languages with similar names in File Manager. Google now reports an indexing problem with these files and reports them as "Duplicate without user-selected canonical".
It seems like there is no way to set up the canonical for files in the File Manager, right?
Is there any other way to get rid of these errors?
Indexing Error "Duplicate without user-selected canonical" for pdf in File Manager
SOLVE
Hi @Sebastian_, happy to help with your question about the error regarding duplicate content without a canonical.
While you can't set a canonical in HubSpot Files, you can change the visibility of the two additional PDFs so that they don't index.
For example, the English or primary language version would be set to "Public" and the other two PDF files would be set to "Public - noindex" as shown here:
Here are the steps to update the files:
From Marketing > Files and Templates > Files, navigate to your PDF documents.
Click Details to open the right sidebar.
Expand "Access and URLs"
Under File URL visibility, change the dropdown from "Public" to "Public - noindex"
