Hi @LGayazetdinova. From experience, I'm more likely to engage with a professional email. If your request to collaborate comes from a gmail or other personal provider, I'm going to think you're not a legit professional. It may be unfair, but I would make an educated assumption that even freelancers would have their own business email rather than a free personal email.

Of course I'm assuming your question is referring to these free emails. So if you're talking about a freelance personal-but-professional handle, then that may work well.

Also, depending on the industry, humor or helpfulness may work well. The few times I've worked with someone it's been either because they're helpful ("I noticed this link in your article goes to an outdated or broken resource, here's ours that's great.") or funny.

I hope that helps!

Hi @LGayazetdinova ,

We have been working on a backlinks strategy for the last many years. And as per my opinion, one should use a separate email( business email) for the outreach for outreaching the websites because there are chances that we might get unnecessary emails due to which we might skip some of the important ones. Moreover, it also impacts branding and looks like a genuine user or webmaster. Thus using business email is better than personal email.

Hope this helps!

Hi @LGayazetdinova,

I'll keep it short and simple.

People usually ignore the emails coming from a @gmail.com domain. And as Dan said, professional emails look more legit.

So I'd suggest you to go with your business email when it comes to outreaching for backlinks.

In my personal experience of outreach, random gmails don't get convert for links as business emails. The responses are great with the business emails with something like yourconvertedname@domain  dot com

Big thanks for your help! Can you please tell me more about what works best for getting responses from your personal experience? What kinds of help are more valuable for you? Are there anything else that is more likely to make you place the link to your website?

Hi @LGayazetdinova,

That's a great question!

I wanted to share this great resource from our friends at Impulse Creative on how to use email to get backlinks without being spammy.

I'll add some SEO wizards to our conversation to get their input as well - @danmoyle@karstenkoehler@Sam62@DavidDennison@webdew - Would you suggest using a personal email or business email for getting backlinks?

Thank you!

Best,

Kristen
