To permanently exclude the /case-studies page from your sitemap, follow these steps to ensure all potential causes are addressed:
Mark the Page as "No Index": Go to the settings for the /case-studies page and enable the "No Index" option. This tells search engines not to include the page in their index and often prevents it from being auto-added to the sitemap.
Verify Sitemap Rules: In Website Settings > Sitemap Rules, check if /case-studies is being automatically included due to dynamic grouping or default rules. Remove it explicitly from these settings if applicable.
Clear URL Redirects and Canonicals: Ensure that /case-studies is not being redirected or set as a canonical URL elsewhere, as this could cause it to reappear in the sitemap.
Re-publish the Sitemap: After removing the page from the sitemap settings, refresh or republish your sitemap. Clear the website cache to ensure the changes take effect.
Submit the Updated Sitemap to Google: Once the changes are implemented, submit the updated sitemap to Google Search Console. This ensures search engines recognize the exclusion of /case-studies.
Contact HubSpot Support if Persistent: If the page continues to reappear despite these steps, it may be due to a platform-level issue. Contact HubSpot Support for further assistance, providing details of the steps you've already taken.
These actions should help ensure the /case-studies page is permanently excluded from your sitemap.
Hi @DFinberg -- Were you checking for those URLs/Links LIVE on the sitemap after removing them from the sitemap tab? To ensure the changes are reflected, please hard refresh your browser after removing the URLs/links from the sitemap tab.
Hey @DFinberg just to confirm are you getting the success message after saving this edit? Are you saying when you save, receive the success message and refresh the page the case studies page appears in the HubSpot sitemap settings again?
