Which metrics matter most to your business?

The metrics that matter most to my business are engagement rate, reach, and conversion rate. Engagement rate shows how well my content connects with the audience, while reach helps me understand how many potential customers I’m exposing my brand to. Conversion rate is essential because it tells me how many of those interactions actually lead to sales. Together, these metrics help me measure both brand visibility and business impact.

For social media/ content marketing and web designing, the following metrics are what matter most for me.

Social media metrics- to identify reach, impressions, and clickthroug rate. All of which are key to making sure the targeted audience is engaged.

Which metrics matter most to your business?

The metrics that matter most to my business are primarily conversions and engagement. Conversions are crucial because they directly reflect the effectiveness of content in driving business outcomes, such as sales, sign-ups, or any specific actions that align with my business goals. This metric helps in understanding the return on investment (ROI) of my content efforts.
Engagement, including metrics like page views, time on site, and social media interactions (likes, shares, comments), is also vital. It indicates how compelling and valuable my audience finds the content. High engagement rates often correlate with higher brand loyalty and can enhance visibility in search engines and social platforms.
Together, these metrics provide a comprehensive view of how well my content resonates with the target audience and drives desired actions, informing strategies for optimization and future content creation.

For a coworking space I am consulting for, I believe the right metrics would be:

1. Website product & service pages: incoming traffic volume to web page > engagement time > click-through-rate

2. Blog: incoming traffic volume to blog page > engagement time > share of traffic sent to website product/service page

3. Social media: Impressions > engagement > share of traffic sent to website product/service page

I am learning paid media but it would be more or less the same metrics. I would add ROAS & CAC to it.

Engagement and conversion rate, because we should aim for a return on investment with every paid advertisement we put out online.

A high conversion rate and a low bounce-back rate on our main website are important to our business. To determine the success of the blogs and content we write on our social media, it would be more on the lines of high engagement, page views, and click-through rates.

Engagement Rate: Measures how well my content resonates with the audience (likes, comments, shares). A high engagement rate means my content is valuable and sparks conversation.

Conversion Rate: Tracks how many people take action (e.g., sign up, download, apply). This shows if my content is effectively driving results.

Organic Traffic (SEO Performance): Helps measure how well my blog posts or content rank on search engines, ensuring long-term visibility.

Email Open & Click-Through Rates: Essential for tracking how well my email marketing efforts are performing.

I would say some of the web page metrics including page views, bounce rate, and tracking website traffic are essential to see if customers are interested in the content being written and this is proven by how long they stay on your site. If your business has social media, I think it's important to engage with the audience and keep track of the number of times people have viewed the content.
