What's your creative process?

Having a process also allows you to think of ideas that may not be easily apparent. What's one thing you do to help come up with new ideas? How can you incorporate this into a repeatable framework (for yourself as well as those you collaborate with)?

I'm finally doing this on a more frequent basis but I use Google alerts on topics that I'm interested in. I also get press releases sent to my email on these same topics. I use it to come up with potential clients to write for. Learned this recently in a workshop.

I tried different ways, such as:

1- scanning all first page and second page posts in the google

2- using pinterest to find new creative ideas

3- thinking about all the people who are intimate with me and they behaviors, likes and dislikes about the subject im writing about ...

4- thinking about my own experiences about topics to use in posts

5- reading new articles in pschology today to be update

6- scanning books in ebook apps that we have in our country to find attractive information

7- using sticky notes on the wall

8- following discussions between people in the social apps

9- reading people's questions in different pages that maybe i can answer in my writings

but I think I should read more scientific articles because they are up-to-date and logical and also few competitors use them, so it makes your content remarkable.

One of the most important things I do is read a lot and not just things from my sector or profession. When I can, I also like to check the reviews that I read. My website deals with real trips, and although it is subjective, a town with a beautiful corner is not the most beautiful town in the world.

I like to immerse myself in the environment that I need to create content for. One example is for my kickboxing classes; if I want content then I go to my gym and observe the energy and actions of the different classes. Then I write down all of my ideas, crazy or not, and then take a break from it. Usually the best ideas will come to me when I'm hiking or getting ready in the morning.

I have found looking at my competitors' posts has helped a lot in the last year.  Reviewing what was a high success for them and/or just seeing things that I didn't think of prior.

I also love the idea of using Google search more than I used to.  Such an easy and free tool.

For new ideas i read the related topics and pick ideas from it. I ensure to write the ideas down without applying my mental critique at this stage to judge if the ideas are great or not. Also suggest my team read or look for similar topics and make notes and share them theirafter.

Somehow my best ideas always come in the wee hours or at dawn. I suppose it is the peace and quiet of those hours. It is hard to repeat for those i collaborate with because they will be in deep sleep at such hours. As for me, it is quite easy as I tend to wake up early.

I like looking at different pictures related to the topic I want to brainstorm about. In this process, Pinterest has been a great help. I like combining an idea with another one to get that unique result I am looking for.

When I am alone, I will do a lot of Google searching to help me research new ideas. When we are in a group, we usually white board them. We start with high level buckets and then see what smaller ideas fall under each. Post-its can be helpful as well to combine duplicated ideas.

I simply tend to stop what I am doing and take some space. Sitting with yourself with a cup of coffe and doing absolutely nothing should calm your nerves. It works like meditation.

To come up with a new ideas, I usually wander around my social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Tik tok to find out the new trends and then try to create a relation with my content.

I utilize social listening research to understand current trends in conversation that are happening in "real-time" around a topic. This can be automated into a monthly report sent direct to inbox to ensure it's utilized in content ideation.

Reading, listening to podcasts, watching movies, talking to different people from different backgrounds and cultures. Also find inspiration in other creative people whose work I admire.

I generate content by keeping myself informed on what is happening in my industry. Even if i dont write anything at the point, the ideas always come up later one.

I pretend to be the person I'm trying to hook and then I put myself on the spot to objectively answer every question I have. Then I'll compare my own answers to those I get from a 'test group' and if I'm lucky I'll know how to proceed from there by using anything that stands out.

Before acutally knowing the correct words for the process i use to do the unconcious processing and braindump a lot. this after active thinking about the topic to write.

I do Google Search and look at other sites for inspiration, "People also searched for" and "Related content". I also bounce the ideas to my colleagues and people who I feel are creative in my friends' list. I build on the ideas that they suggest in a way that it works for my requirement in hand. I also try to relax myself by listening to music or going for a walk. This helps me clear up my mind and come up with fresh ideas.

I use tools like Google search engine, Google trends, "answer the public" website, and HubSpot's blog topic generator to come with ideas.
