What's your creative process?

Having a process also allows you to think of ideas that may not be easily apparent. What's one thing you do to help come up with new ideas? How can you incorporate this into a repeatable framework (for yourself as well as those you collaborate with)?

One thing I do to come up with new ideas:

I brainstorm using a “topic bucket” list — I write broader topics first, then break them into smaller sub-ideas. This helps me think of ideas I wouldn’t normally see immediately.

How I can make this part of a repeatable framework:

I can create a simple brainstorming template that everyone on my team uses.

For example:

1. Write the main topic

2. List 5–7 subtopics

3. Turn each subtopic into content idea

4. Select the best ideas and prioritize

By using the same template every time, the whole team will follow one process. This makes idea generation organized, consistent, and easy to repeat for everyone.

Hi @Prachee_140806

That's a great process you have right there ! Having a system to track your content ideas consistently definitely helps cut out planning time so the team can dedicate it to implementing ideas faster ( the fun stuff ) - Thank you for sharing your content brainstorming process!

Cheers,

Well, i almost think i am a bit complicated at first.

Here's what i do, if i want to create a post about health, i would like to resonate with my mind, try to see the common problems whether it be what i face or what people are facing.

Then i go ahead to check all accessible information about that content when am satisfied with the information, i relax my little head with any form of entertainment or just a quick shower.

Slowly but very efficiently, i will begin to put the information in my own words and then edit it based on the goal of the content.

When it comes to coming up with new ideas, I am a chronic pacer.  I will walk back and forth and talk out loud until my thoughts form plan or an idea that I can write down or at least add to a list. I feel like I'm constantly inspired by the things I watch or see, I've been told that my imagination is pretty intense. Whenever I get a thought or an idea for a story or plot point, I immediately write it down in my notes, until everything kind of form some semblance of something cohesive.  I also love to make voice notes and bother my friends, so I'll send them voice messages of my ideas all the times and they'll hit me back with what they think.  I feel like asking for opinions is important in a creative process. I always love to hear feedback on my work.

Half of writer's block, in my opinion, stems from second guessing yourself, which becomes common once you have expended a lot of ideas in any particular category. A big part for me to move forward is just to write down what comes to mind, and it can be anything. Even if I don't end up using that particular idea, the process will very often be enough to get the juices flowing and this will spark the foundation of more applicable ones.

Sometimes inspiration is necessary. Reading, looking at art, reseraching peers/competitors to see what they are doing, or even watching a movie or YouTube videos can get the gears turning.

When all of those methods fail, I realize my brain itself is most likley feeling fatigued and it might be time to shut the old laptop down. Go for a walk. Exercise. Call a friend. Do things that are fulfilling, and allow the brain to refill itself. By doing so, ideas will pop up for creatives when least expected.

Gathering more ideas while relaxing is the most effective way for me. After researching, I sometimes tend to be overwhelmed by the information. That's why going to a quiet place is the most effective way to think or writing it down to a digital whiteboard while connecting it to other ideas in an organized manner. I can incorporate these habits repeatedly by studying and collecting information early.

One thing I do to come up with new ideas is brainstorm regularly and keep an idea journal where I jot down everything that comes to mind, no matter how small. To turn this into a repeatable framework, I schedule weekly brainstorming sessions with my team, review the journal for inspiration, and organize ideas into categories for content creation. This makes it easy to consistently generate and refine ideas while keeping everyone aligned.

My creative process is that I am extremely observant and analytical in my approach to work.  I am always eager to learn and grow in anything I set my mind to.  I love to offer assistance to co-workers in tough situations and strive to continuously think outside the box on how to complete objectives perfectly whether working solo or in a team.

I am curious and enjoy reading a lot, absorbing information and concepts from everywhere I can. After that, I like to take time to walk in the city or in nature and imagine my own concepts, creating some stories or characters. I find it really important to me to maintain this creative mindset and stay inspired. It allows me to think about new things.

For me,
Just randomly talking to people over a cup of tea really helps generate ideas and getting some lead to what you are working on.
Also it helps to write the stuff you are a thinking and liking for a piece of content. Helps when generating ideas with multiple touchpoints or keywords.

Become use to being uncomfortable, eat when thirsty, drink when tired, rest when annoyed, play when you don't have any idea what is happening. Regardless, keep going.

In real-time projects, whether I am designing thumbnails or creating blogs and written content, I begin by fully understanding the concept and visualizing how it should be presented. I search for references and inspiration to shape my ideas and ensure accuracy. I then create an initial draft and refine it by exploring different styles, structures, and creative options to avoid repetition. I focus on meeting the content requirements while also adding fresh elements, unique perspectives, or new design features. This approach helps me produce engaging, original, and visually appealing work that communicates the message effectively.

My creative process usually starts with an uninhibited dump of ideas or a 'free write' of sorts. Nothing needs to make sense or have a rhyme or reason; we're just trying to empty the brain
Next, I'd start to take in new ideas with a lens for filling in gaps in the content of competitors and so on.
Next is to broaden or share the wealth and do a group brainstorming session where a broader team can pool ideas or an individual can get feedback from people, either related or completely unrelated to the content at hand; the key is that it starts to make sense, even to someone with net-zero knowledge.
Finally, it's time to execute the idea and enter into feedback and processing until a finished product comes about

My cretaive process involves hanging out with other people in public places like food joints, public bars, sporting events etc just to gather how they think, what they think about and what is in people's minds currently or what matters to a lot of people at that present moment. I watch youtube videos, read books and blogs to gather knowledge and inspiration. I also create my buyer personas so that i know for whom the content is. After this I find my peaceful quiet space and allow what I've consumed to float freely in my mind, ideas hitting at each other at free will. This together with my buyer persona helps flood ideas into my head and thats where inspiration and ideas hit.

In order for creative ideas to visit me, I need to step away from noise. If I recognize that I am overwhelmed in other areas, I try to find a moment to recollect my solitude through journaling or relaxing to music. Once I reach a clearer mind, I can look forward to creative thoughts that visit me.
I recognize that I do not often write my ideas down, because there is no work that required me to outside of an essay for a class. I will try to write down my ideas more frequently.
I can incorporate my method for making space for creative thoughts into a repeatable framework by setting a time to actively clear mental clutter to help such thoughts feel invited to come in.

I look for inspirations online and write down ideas that pop in my head as they come, so I do not forget.

Whats your creative process?

I will take inspiration from other companies and I will reflect on the most asked questions that the customers have asked in the past.

I will also think about things from the client perspective, "If I were a potential customer, what would I want to know before deciding on a company"
