What's your creative process?

Having a process also allows you to think of ideas that may not be easily apparent. What's one thing you do to help come up with new ideas? How can you incorporate this into a repeatable framework (for yourself as well as those you collaborate with)?

What's your creative process?

Before an actual writing

1. I do a literature review, find relevant resources

2. Read similar topics that have been published by others

3. Brainstorm what I could do

4. Mindmapping

5. Outlining

after those stages, I write, proofread, show my article to peers and ask for feedback, refine&edit and then I finalised it.

What's your creative process?

I've really not had a concrete creative process before. But with what am learning, I'd probably go with the outline below:

  • Do my research
  • Analyze informatio at hand
  • Plan out my content
  • Create and experiment
  • Have a feedback loop
  • Optimize
  • Publish and promote
  • Analyze and iterate

What's your creative process?

My creative process involves a mix of research, brainstorming, and collaboration, all within an organized structure. Here's a simple breakdown of my process:

  1. Research & Inspiration: I start by gathering relevant information and looking for inspiration from different sources—whether it's data, trends, or analyzing what competitors or influencers are doing.

  2. Brainstorming & Ideation: Once I have a good base of knowledge, I brainstorm ideas. This can be done individually or with a team. I like to use mind maps or lists to explore various angles for a topic.

  3. Refining Ideas: Once I have a list of ideas, I evaluate which are the most feasible and valuable. I ask questions like: "How does this align with the goals?" or "Is it something the audience will engage with?"

  4. Collaboration & Feedback: I involve others for feedback and insights. Getting different perspectives helps refine the idea further.

To help come up with new ideas, one technique I use is mind mapping or brainstorming sessions where all ideas, no matter how out there, are considered. I find that opening the floor to wild ideas can often lead to more focused and creative solutions.

To make this process repeatable, I would establish a content idea template that includes steps like:

  • Research phase: Identify the audience, industry trends, and competitor content.
  • Idea generation: List all potential angles or topics.
  • Feasibility check: Is the idea aligned with goals and resources?
  • Feedback loop: Share ideas with a team for input.

I have found reading as the best step to generate ideas. Through the old and modern stories combine to form mine. Then the real ideas practically come in the eureka moments. Wonderful.

One thing I do to come up with new ideas is content gap analysis. I review competitor content or analyze audience feedback to identify unanswered questions or underserved topics. By looking at what’s missing in the current landscape, I can brainstorm ideas that fill those gaps and offer unique value to my audience. It’s practical and ensures my content stays relevant and helpful.

One thing I do to come up with new ideas is breaking the problem into smaller parts and asking simple, open-ended questions like “What if?” or “How can we do this differently?” This helps me think beyond the obvious and uncover fresh perspectives.

Like Guillaume said, my process usually starts when I'm reading a material or talking with a colleague and the idea just comes. I write it down, try to refine it, do a couple of research, try to figure out the best way to write it, and then write it.

What's your creative process?

i would:

Start with a central question or challenge like Write down the issue im trying to solve in the center of a whiteboard, sticky notes, or a digital tool, Branch out into related topics: use encouragment to think freely and note down connected ideas and Focus on quantity over quality initially, also, Prioritize and refine: Once all ideas are on the table, identify patterns and prioritize ideas based on relevance and impact. This allows for better focus in the next steps.

One thing I do to come up with new ideas is gather inspiration from customer feedback and trends within the jewelry industry, such as popular gemstones, styles, or color palettes. To turn this into a repeatable framework, I could implement a monthly brainstorming session where I review customer feedback, social media comments, and survey results to identify recurring themes or requests. I would also analyze competitor content and industry trends for fresh inspiration and host a collaborative meeting with my team to discuss insights and generate ideas.

What's your creative process?

I've never formalized my creative process, so I haven't considered it much. I typically look at the overarching goal and the objectives. Then, I do a lot of research and take notes. I spend a good amount of time really trying to visualize myself as a member of the target audience and get the texture of their life and the problems they are trying to solve. I just started trying out mind mapping, so I might try that or just jotting down some notes.

I probably don't read enough these days. I consume a lot of podcasts. I think consuming other forms of media would be helpful, incuding visual art. Just getting up from my desk and taking a walk or working out is helpful. I should do that more. And I should carry a notebook around with me to ensure ideas are not lost.

Nature itself.
As long as I am in contact with it, I feel that my ability to produce and create remains active.

What's your creative process?

I mostly give myself enough space and time after I've completed working on a recent idea.

This allows my mind and body to relax and process something new out of what I already know/ been learning recently.

Other times it makes me wonder if I know about a certain topic or do I need more researching on it.

What's your creative process?

Currently I do not have a creative process. Although I suppose I currently just ruminate on certain thoughts and assess the viability of them. Other things I tend to do are sit with friends and just discuss possible business ventures.
