What's an example of contextual marketing?

Start small with your contextual marketing efforts. Use it sparingly in one area to begin with. Contextual marketing is an advanced marketing tactic. There are many ways to use it, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the possibilities. Keeping this in mind, what advice would you give to someone looking to get started with contextual marketing?

As per my point of view,

Personalized Recommendations: Based on the specific tent the user is viewing, you can dynamically generate recommendations for related camping gear such as sleeping bags, camping chairs, or cooking stoves. By offering relevant suggestions, you increase the likelihood of cross-selling and upselling.

From my understanding, an example of Contextual Marketing could be:

I am currently interning with a Marketing Studio who offers both business marketing services, as well as wedding videography. I think an example of Contextual Marketing would be asking the audience what they are interested in upon reaching the business website. For example, once the customer reaches the website they are asked to select one of three options: Wedding Services, Commercial Marketing Services, or New and Researching. Based on their selection, they are directed to the webpage directly pertaining to their needs. New visitors would be directed to an about/summary page informing them of the company and their mission, businesses to the marketing services launch page, and weding clients to wedding services.

The menu option will still be avaliable so that the audience can continue to browse at their own leisure, however taking the initial work off of the consumer by directing them immediately to the information they are interested in.

An example would be showing different content based on user age, location and preference. At my company we have certain locations that buyers come from and we want to filter out non-buying locations from scheduling a call with us. That would be a great example of contextual marketing if they are shown different features on the website based on ip location.

Content marketing is the development and distribution of relevant, useful content to existing and potential customers. The format is not important. Blogs, social media posts, newsletters, videos are all content.

Using context, you can easily tell users about new products or services by quickly creating announcements for them. Promotion of one-time promotions. Users are more likely to click on ads with special offers (discounts, gifts) than on standard ads, as they attract attention with a specific benefit.

Oh my. I didn't even know this was possible. I will definitely be looking into this more for my clients. But just as an idea, I am working with a client who has a clinic. They also offer support group meetings for their clients.  First-time visitors might get something (I don't know how it's done yet) that encourages getting services, while clients could get something that shows the highlights of upcoming meetings.

These are some great examples of contextual marketing!

One way publishers and advertisers can benefit from contextual marketing is through AI-based contextual marketing. As consumers, we are more cautious about providing our personal data and concerned about data breaches and the sale of our personal information. One advantage of Contextual AI is that it does not rely on invasive data breaches that we like to call “third-party cookies.” Instead, it reads the context of a webpage and provides ads based on that context, rather than targeting individuals personally.

This approach is much safer and more private! Oracle and Sales Intel by WowYow AI are pioneering this industry.

A great example in the credit union industry is when you are searching for mortgage options online. You then go to your credit union's webpage and start seeing offers on loan rates or ways to connect with the mortgage department.

Could you look into some newsletters you or someone you know is subscribed to? Many creators and influencers use newsletters to update their subscribers on new content or updates they have within their niche. You can see their contextual marketing strategies on how they retent or gain new subscribers based on their content.

Contextual Marketing i think is mostly applied when it comes to a landing page or sales page. Direct and precise information is passed. Great value of what they are  buying is being demonstrated and even makes them perform actions with no pressure

Great example that I believe contextual marketing is e-commerce web sites. Apart from giants like Amazon and eBay there are tons of local e-commerce web sites we already dealing with every day and they target our preferences likes to give the best experience over shopping. However some are not so human and some are actually impressive. It depends on the users however.

An example of contextual marketing is Facebook. Facebook will narrow down ads that you browse on your News Feed and will find articles, stuff to buy, etc. What is also weird about Facebook is that sometimes it can like "hear you" and post all of these ads that you were talking about out loud.

In Nepal, the example of contextual marketing is Daraz.com . It is an e-commerce platform that facilitates buying and selling of variety products. This ecommerce website uses keywords to track the users consuming patterns and then gives you personalized experiences. The main advice I would give to someone looking to get started with contextual marketing is that they should first focus on the basics and try to give personalized content to every users according to their preferences.

The most prominent example of context marketing is Google’s AdSense. It uses search terms entered into Google to select the right ad for that user.
