What's a SMART goal you're working towards?
As a content marketer who is still learning, a SMART goal I’m working towards this year is developing my skills in SEO and content creation to increase my personal blog’s organic traffic by 20% within the next six months.
Specific: I will focus on learning SEO best practices and creating high-quality blog posts that target specific keywords. Measurable: I’ll track my blog’s traffic using Google Analytics to see the progress toward the 20% increase. Achievable: Given my current level and the resources available (like online courses and tutorials), this goal feels attainable. Relevant: Improving my blog’s traffic will help me practice and apply the skills I’m learning in content marketing. Time-bound: I plan to achieve this goal within six months.
By setting this goal, I aim to enhance my understanding of content marketing while building my portfolio.
Specific: I want to recertify myself for digital marketing courses to stay relevant on the industry needs and appear hireable by the marketing agency or in-house marketing department Measureable: I plan to finish the module and pass the hubspot exam within 1 week Attainable: As I'm currently not comitted to full time job, I have the freedom to spend 3-4 hours per day to study the module Relevant: Having the hubspot digital marketing certification would make myself appear knowledgeable to the recruiter since I have the latest certification Timely: I want to certified by Hubspot by the 28th of October
I’m currently working towards increasing the organic traffic to my business website by 20% over the next 6 months. To achieve this, I’m implementing an SEO campaign focused on optimizing existing content, creating new relevant content, and improving page load speed. I’ll measure success using Google Analytics and ensure this goal is attainable by enhancing team collaboration and staying updated with the latest SEO trends
My SMART goal is up-leveling my work skills through gaining certifications
Specific: I want to complete 3 work related certifications in the next three months.
Measurable: I will measure this by passing all certification exams and incorporating what I've learnt into my work.
Attainable: I'll dedicate 5 hours per week towards studying.
Relevant: As I'm currently focused on advancing my career, up-leveling my skills is highly relevant. Timely: By setting a realistic timeline of three months this will provide me enough time while maintaining my interest.
I think what am I doing right now is kinda SMART goal specific: commiting myself to study this course to use it in real work afterwhile Measurable: to get the certificate Attainable: schedualize my time to finish the course in the determined time whatever happenes. Relevant: Completing this course focusing on one thing and only, and not to distract myself of other content timely: I gave myself 4 weeks to finish it!
Whats a SMART goal youre working towards this year?
Specific - Creating an effective monthly content schedule for social media that gains 50 followers each month
Measureable - keep track of the insights from each post to find interests/type of posts that bring most engagement - shows reach and followers to see how many can be predicted future follows
Attainable - having a content scheduled that users engage with the most will enhance reach which helps gain followers
Relevant - creating a content schedule with posts that resonate with your users the most is relevant because keeping your current audience engaged will also extend your reach to new users.
Timely - a schedule with hold you accountable to posting which will build trust with your followers because they will know they can expect to hear from you on certain days/times while keeping them entertained and interested in your content.
Me and my team have set an example of SMART goal where I am working to obtain professional certification before the end of the year. The goal, therefore, is specific (attainment of a certification), measurable (passing the relevant exams), achievable (committed study time on the week), relevant (professional development) and time-bound.
I'm a freshly graduated Content Marketing Strategist looking to build myself up with the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this career. Storytelling has always been a passion of mine - so having the opportunity to craft engaging narratives related to our brand's content for a living is amazing.
My SMART Goal:
Specific - Write a blog that is deemed a success by my company.
Measurable - I will be keeping track of the metrics after the blogs are posted, paying close attention to any accessible movements (positive/negative) in engagements, click-through, time spent on page, etc.
Achievable - This is what content marketing is all about. Being able to write compelling content that engages with our audiences. If the content isn't working, the metrics should reflect that; allowing me to pivot if need be.
Relevant - Being able to write successful blogs is one of the main tasks for my job, therefore demonstrating competency in this ability would be very beneficial right now.
Time-Bound - By next month I will be writing 2-3 blogs a week. It would be great to have my first successful blog post come before the end of October.
Good luck everyone on your content marketing journeys!
As a Customer Experience Manager, I'm working to build content which natively draws positive media attention to my company for the purpose of developing a cover story in a major business magazine such as Forbes. Clearly I need to learn a lot.
