What are some more details for possible buyer personas?

SOLVE

I tried out the buyer persona generator that hubspot academy links in the content marketing course. I've noticed that the questions in that tool are geared towards certain kinds of buyers more than others. While I could think of new questions to replace those, I wondered if anybody on the content management study group would be willing to help brainstorm even questions that would help flesh out different kinds of buyer personas in more detail.

What are some more details for possible buyer personas?

SOLVE

Absolutely @cfaircloth  buyers persona differs from industry to industry and also at the stage of business (startup, medium or enterprise)l and one common mistake I see in many teams are they create a buyers persona once and then forget about it. It's a living document that should evolve with new learnings and after talking to your customers.

Here are some checkpoints:

  1. Demographic Information:

    • What is their age range?
    • What is their gender?
    • Where do they live?
    • What is their marital status?
    • Do they have children?
  2. Education and Career:

    • What is their educational background?
    • What is their current occupation?
    • What industry do they work in?
    • How many years of experience do they have in their field?
    • Are they employed full-time or part-time?
  3. Goals and Motivations:

    • What are their short-term and long-term goals?
    • What motivates them to achieve these goals?
    • What challenges or pain points do they face in reaching their goals?
    • How does your product or service align with their goals?
  4. Decision-Making Process:

    • What factors influence their decision-making process?
    • Who else is involved in their decision-making process?
    • How do they typically research and gather information before making a purchase?
    • Are they price-sensitive or more focused on quality and value?
  5. Interests and Hobbies:

    • What are their hobbies and interests outside of work?
    • What kind of media do they consume (books, movies, TV shows, podcasts)?
    • Which social media platforms do they use?
    • Are they part of any communities or groups (online or offline)?
  6. Challenges and Pain Points:

    • What are their main challenges or pain points related to your product or industry?
    • How do these challenges affect their daily life or work?
    • What solutions or alternatives have they tried in the past?
  7. Communication Preferences:

    • How do they prefer to communicate (email, phone, in-person)?
    • Do they prefer written or visual content?
    • Are they more responsive to social media outreach or traditional marketing channels?
    • Do they prefer a more formal or casual tone of communication?
  8. Budget and Resources:

    • What is their budget range for purchasing products or services in your industry?
    • Do they have access to the necessary resources to make a purchase?
    • Are they willing to invest time and effort into implementation or learning?

Don't stick to 1 buyer's persona, have at least 3 variations to test out if you never worked on a buyer's persona.

Fun data fact: I found out the customers whose time we saved by more than 9 mins in their customer support journey retained longer. So we added this as well in the buyer's persona.

Note: This is a starting point for brainstorming and it evolves, you delete some data points and you add some data points. Don't limit yourself to standard procedure and rules.
Big kudos to @MiaSrebrnjak for the mention

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out to our content management study group regarding the buyer persona generator shared in the HubSpot Academy's content marketing course.

After giving it a go, I noticed that the questions in the tool seem to cater more to specific types of buyers. While I've considered replacing some of these questions with new ones, I thought it might be beneficial to tap into the collective brilliance of our study group to brainstorm a wider range of questions. The goal is to create more detailed and comprehensive buyer personas.

Your expertise and insights would be highly valued in this process. I believe that by collaboratively coming up with questions, we can better tailor our buyer personas to various audience segments. This, in turn, can greatly enhance our content marketing strategies.

In line with our recent discussions on content management, I'd like to relate this to a practical example. Consider the LokLok app, which we've been exploring for tips and tricks. How can we frame questions that would capture the diverse preferences and needs of potential LokLok users? By delving into specifics, we can refine our understanding of different user segments and, consequently, optimize our content strategies.

I encourage you to share any thoughts, questions, or suggestions you may have. Your contribution will not only enrich our study group discussions but also enhance our ability to create more effective content tailored to specific buyer personas.
