Regardless of the story you’re trying to tell and how you’re trying to tell it, storytelling has three essential elements:

  • Characters
  • Conflict
  • Resolution

Choose one of your favorite brands, and tell their business's story by answering the below questions.

Ultraspeaking has a comprehensive content strategy to support their audience' challenges - overcome the fear and build confidence when communicating and giving speeches. There are series of guides, blogs, YouTube videos, podcasts and newsletters that Ultrasound creates to help their audience work through challenges under differnet senario. It could be how to ace a job interview, how to speak publicly with confidence, etc. They also run free webinars and live practices which give their prospects a chance to see how things will work for them if they sign up. I personally been trying them for a while, watch some of the videos and read their blogs. I've also joined their live workshop and found it very supportive and helpful. It's easy to find Ultraspeaking's website & content on Google, so I really think they're doing a good job with their content strategy.

The audience: military service members, veterans, and their families

Challenges: They help their audience build financial literacy and security through a variety of banking and insurance products geared specifically toward service members and their families. USAA members benefit from a customer experience that shows the brand knows the unique financial and life challenges military families face (planning for and returning from deployment, frequent moves, etc.)

The brand in question is Vans.

 

Who is their audience?

The Vans audience comprises various segments. I would say that the primary target market has always been "boardriders" (skateboarders, surfers, etc.) and those participating or interested in similar "freestyle" sports. But the brand also targets youth and streetwear culture.

 

What challenges are they helping their audience to overcome? How are they doing it?

As its target audience is mostly young, active, and passionate about freedom of expression, Vans offers customers footwear that is comfortable and stylish. Shoes are available in multiple colorways, allowing customers to express themselves and make a statement. They also have soft uppers and cushioned soles for comfort. But they aren't too bulky, which is ideal for skaters, BMX bikers, etc.

Their audience is people focused on reducing the single-use plastic waste that our society generates.

They offer plastic-free shampoo and other similar items by providing the shampoo in an aluminum bottle that you mail back when you're done so it can be washed and reused.

Challenge:  The brand offers recycling for items that city curbside recycling can't handle. They partner with local and domestic reuse and recycling partners so customers can trust that the items recycled through the service stay out of landfills. They offer three standard categories (plastic film, cloth, and batteries) and one specialty category (ex. small electronics, eyeglasses) each pickup cycle and offer add-ons for things like styrofoam, paint, or flourescent lights - all things you would need to take to a specialty recycling facility and likey pay a fee. The service takes the extra effort out of recycling common, but hard to recycle items.

The name of traveling company is Color tour. the Color tour has some special operating activities. for example: "The core value of the company organizes trips to support food, old clothes for disadvantaged rural areas, mountainous areas, installs solar panels for coastal regions, and cooks food for children."

A portion of the ticket price will be allocated to a fundraising effort for buying food, notebooks, candies, bicycles for children

Young people who enjoy community sharing, families who want to teach their children the value of sharing and appreciating a prosperous life, and young people who enjoy experiencing life and culture in poor mountainous regions

To identify Color Tour brand, the company regularly launches campaigns to collect old clothes, tedy bear, and other used machine to distribute to poor families in mountainous areas in the local community to attract the youth participation.
