Regardless of the story you’re trying to tell and how you’re trying to tell it, storytelling has three essential elements:

  • Characters
  • Conflict
  • Resolution

Choose one of your favorite brands, and tell their business's story by answering the below questions.

  • Who is the brand?
  • Who is their audience?
  • What challenge are they helping their audience to overcome? How are they doing it?

Brand: GoMechanic (an app-based car services & repair startup in India)

Audience: Young & middle-aged professionals (25-45 years old), mostly male, working with a busy schedule, who value convenience & affordability in car servicing & wish to take care of their car in a pocket-friendly manner, who believe in the offerings of startups & who are open to trying out new brands but at the same time are a bit wary in giving their car to a new company.

Challenge/Conflict: Company dealerships charge a lot & local mechanics are non-trustworthy & not experts with genuine parts

Resolution: GoMechanic provides an easy way to book service through an app, get the car picked up from home/office, get it serviced by trained & expert mechanics with the most genuine parts & delivered back, all at an affordable price.

The brand gc2b is a small, trans-owned business based in Maryland, U.S. that produces binders, an article of clothing meant to compress one's chest to create a flatter silhouette. It was developed by Marli Washington, a transgender man, who realized that other trans people did not have access to safe, effective methods to bind their chests. He used his experience in product design and textiles to create the first garmets designed and patended specifically for chest-binding. The business strives to be all-inclusive of one's skin tone, body frame and body size, and continues to contribute to LGBT+ charities.

Who is their audience? Swimmers, people across ages who want to learn swimming

What challenge are they helping them overcome: Learners go through poor experiences in learn to swim classes because of poor teaching techniques. There is also a lack of awareness about drowning, and many myths and fears that hold them back. Swimming Matters runs swim teacher training programs, curriculum development, advocacy campaigns and community building efforts to increase participation and excellence in swimming.

How are they doing it? - In today's world, the "WOW" Effect is slowly withering away with no new ideas and the big companies like Apple, Google seem to have lost the one thing which made them unique and here comes the brand 'Nothing'. The products and the Idea generation of the products are High End with a New Niche of Quality Products with New Designs and Ideology. This is the Brand of The New Generation.

In this era most of the youngsters are facing the problems of lacking time for going to shopping malls. They too need a trusted platform where they can get qualitiful products with an affordable price. Daraz is an online platform which is working for providing good products with low delivery fees. Daraz is available in different countries and their services are also customized according to that. That,s why it is easy to access and affordable.

Target Audience: is young consumers within the age bracket 10 to 25 and secondary market composed of people age between 25 to 40.  

the company targets the market that desires an intensive flavor with their regular cola drinks in terms of taste. there are many issues when it comes to different challenges faced by coca cola to stafisy target audience. coca cola targets based on their age, gender, and family sizes. 

Coca Cola uses red and black lookes which gives more masculine looks compared to coke light. Furthermore, their main challenges is to make difference in commericals and advertising campaigns.  These marketing strategies are applied to attract people and increase the sales of the product, which provides with the high profit to the company.

Brand - One Plus
Audience - Smartphone users who want value for money with a great user experience.
They are creating products that give cutting-edge competition(much more expensive) to their counterparts.
They entered the market when it was almost saturated& started with the "NEVER SETTLE " idealogy where users shouldn't have to settle for a substandard phone with average user experience just because they don't have a massive budget to upgrade.
They successfully did this by creating a unique brand experience and initially starting to invite-only marketing strategy where you can only purchase a product if you get invited by your friend

I am a multipotentialite. I love to learn new skills. There is so much to learn and i have a large apetite. However, most of these engaging skills cannot be learned traditionally. Enter Udemy, one of my favorite learning platforms. I admire there tenacity for the self-improvement. 

Some of the reasons i love Udemy:

What challenge are they helping their audience to overcome? How are they doing it?

- The primary challenge they are helping their audience overcome is accessibility and affordability to quality clothing at an affordable price. They also do so by offering clothing with minimal designs and patterns, making it easy for just about anyone to envision themselves wearing a certain t-shirt. In this way, I would also say they help their audience to overcome obstacles related to sustainability surrounding clothing as well, by offering them basic closet pieces.

Smoody is my favorite brand product of boxdfood... I love the idea of making beef jerky with special ingredients that can turn your mood or give happy vibes.

Their audience is anybody or everybody in the blue or white collar space, anybody going through stress, or trying to find inspiration or motivation while working.

So far so good Smoody is known for helping people dealwith stress, promote bonding with families. colleagues and friends, super food which gives nutrients.
