I've noticed that my strategies lack the ability to generate social media engagement. Any way that I can improve on this moving forward?

So you don't have to do much just follow these simple steps:

• Decide your audience & Competitors
• Prepare content idea calendar
• Post consistently to generate the data in analytics.
• Follow trends in content creation
• Use a brand hashtag and promote that hashtag
• Cross-promote your content on website using tools like tagembed, tagbox, walls.io etc
• Collaborate with influencers (small or big)
• Use CTAs
• A/B Testing 
• Monitor Competitors

Just follow this checklist and I can assure you to get a definte results out of it, if utilized properly.
