Re: Improving your content creation process

Your content creation process should be something that's clear, repeatable, and organized. It's important to evaluate your process from time to time to see how it can be improved (for you and those you collaborate with).

Before you create your next piece of content, what's one thing you could do to improve your current process? For me, I'm going to create a survey via a Google form and send it to those I collaborate with to get their feedback. The easier I am to collaborate with, the more people will want to work with me.

*To learn more about this, check out the Building a Content Creation Framework lesson via HubSpot Academy.

That makes sense. I know that, from a consumer side, I personally don't find a lot of value in regular newsletters. If I'm receiving an email, I am generally looking for a solid reason (ie. important news or curated content that suits my taste (Rothy's is particularly good at getting me here). It's why I've been looking at editing a lot of our email content to better fill a need or want than to just being pushing out our content each month.

-> For me, I'm going to use my goals to determine what content I need to focus on. From there, map out what content I need to be live. And then, I'm going to think about how I created a piece of content in the past before I had a content framework to avoid these roadblocks which I hit before.

Currently, my team could benefit from clearly defined roles, as there is a little bleed as to "who owns what?".

I've been on a few teams with this problem, especially in growing companies. Once you have clear roles, anytime new projects or content is introduced it will probably be beneficial to go in and assign each task to help meet deadlines and avoid confusion down the road. Our team is currently using a project management system to break down large projects and easily assign roles (with email alerts built-in!)

I never use to have a buyer persona, but I think it’s something that’s very important to have as part of my main consideration points in my content creation process, so that’s the one thing I’ll add up.

I work of my own, but timeline and editing that is something I want to focus on.

I need to work on creating deadlines and organizing everything where it's easy to find.

One of the biggest issues I've had so far is with setting timeframes for my content to be released. I work on my project solo, so I do all of my content on my own. Sometimes I'll go beyond the timeframes I set for myself and it can become quite disheartening.

I definitely need to crate a framework!

I will research how to  market to customers of brands in the same industry, with enough information, I can better understand what is suitable for customer's demands. Besides that, collect some options from the team to have a general outlook on these issues.

Make more research and start early enough before deadline to ensure ample time for edits.

I took the SEO certification course through HubSpot and walked through our own site and content as I learned. I worked closely with my boss at the same time so I could as questions or walk through things I'd noted. During that process we were able to create a fast load time for our site, better optimize for keywords, and push our podcast up so it now ranks second on Google for cleaning industry podcast (which was a huge deal and something we did not actually anticipate). SEO is a beast though and I definitely recommend looking for a mentor of some kind who can help with you don't work with someone who can guide you.

Create a survey for patrons about the usefulness, the level of attraction, ... apply keyword tools, to analyze and update current trends. Judging by customer engagement with past content.

I continuously check the numbers related to the content and I will reevaluate the process of content generation based on the numbers.

I also have some events - like the retro event in the scrum- to improve our process.

I'm going to start building recipes that enable me to streamline my content creation process. I want to be able to duplicate it and then enable other people to follow along and seamlessly create their own content!

For me, I think that before I begin to write a new content, I'll review the old articles that I wrote. It means that I'll read it again and check statistics about that post. If it was bad, I'll find reasons why. On contrast, I'll take note the topic I wrote for the next plan.
