Improving your content creation process

Your content creation process should be something that's clear, repeatable, and organized. It's important to evaluate your process from time to time to see how it can be improved (for you and those you collaborate with).

 

Before you create your next piece of content, what's one thing you could do to improve your current process? For me, I'm going to create a survey via a Google form and send it to those I collaborate with to get their feedback. The easier I am to collaborate with, the more people will want to work with me.

Keeping our Brand and Style Guide in mind, and leaning on our writers and designers to make sure the voice and tone, both in text and the visual styling, all support our brand voice when creating content will make sure our content remains cohesive and on brand.

It'll be creating a style guide for me. Because I work solo, I didn't think I needed a style guide since my posts are majorly written and edited by just me. But now that it was mentioned, I think having one will make my job easier and more organized. I should also add creating a content calendar.

Agree! All the ideas here are awesome, but I'm taking a non-traditional approach. Introducing "taking a walk when your brain starts getting foggy". I can't write good things if my mind isn't fresh. Taking a walk down my neighborhood makes all the difference!

For me I think getting a workflow down of who is responsible for what and a realistic timeline for content going out would be a first step. Also keeping content in a shared document.

For me, I'm going to implement a content calendar to better plan and organize upcoming content pieces. This will help ensure that deadlines are met and that there's a clear timeline for each step of the content creation process. Having a visual overview will also make it easier to coordinate with team members and keep track of progress. The more structured and predictable the process, the smoother the collaboration will be, ultimately leading to higher quality content.

First of all i will try to  recognize that different collaborators might have different working styles and preferences. So according to that i would like to adapt my approach to suit their needs, whether it’s through flexible meeting times, varied communication methods, or tailored support.

It's just a really good idea to develop a feedback loop in order to improve your content. One improvement, therefore, that I could make to the current process is a very detailed content calendar. A content calendar would help me set out the steps of content projects one by one. It gives deadlines, milestones, and responsible parties for each stage of the process. It would ensure that all are aware of their role and responsibility towards the project and that the project is on a timeline. Formulating goals for each content piece and breaking down the project into bite-sized tasks with effective deadlines are crucial steps. Clearly defining the people accountable for individual tasks and having realistic deadlines for milestones to keep the work on schedule are also essential. Tools like Google Calendar, Trello, and Asana can be used to create and share a calendar with collaborators. Continuously reviewing the calendar to ensure it meets reality objectives and making changes wherever needed are important. Such a regimented schedule will lead to time efficiency among team members, improvement in communication, and an increase in collaboration.

I can't give an exact answer to this question, but I guess it would be great if I made my content creation process less messy. I mean, before working with a client as a freelance copywriter, I could make a detailed plan with my future steps for some piece of content. For example, I can use Google Sheets for making a scheme and track my content creation process. I think, it would make me more organized.
