Improving your content creation process

Your content creation process should be something that's clear, repeatable, and organized. It's important to evaluate your process from time to time to see how it can be improved (for you and those you collaborate with).

Before you create your next piece of content, what's one thing you could do to improve your current process? For me, I'm going to create a survey via a Google form and send it to those I collaborate with to get their feedback. The easier I am to collaborate with, the more people will want to work with me.

Nice! I think I’ll improve my process by planning my content structure first. It will make everything smoother.

For me, i would focus on creating content for every stage of the buyers journey from awareness stage to consideration stage and see how the decision stage improves.

Also documenting every stage of the journey and reviewing progress over time.

Thank You ABI our content manager in Hubspot Academy👏

I would do it with IA or do a checklist with bullet points to follow.

A great improvement I’d focus on is creating a simple content checklist or workflow template so every piece of content follows a clear, consistent process from idea to publication.

The current process doesn't have a style guide folks can follow. We should create one, perhaps with a checklist!

Surveys are definitely a great. I would also proactively seek suggestions through comment sections of the social media platforms that I create my content on. AI is another tool which I would use to generate summaries regarding the topic of interest from across popular forums such as reddit. And I think it saves a huge amount of time.

Before I make a piece of content, I should improve my storyboarding process regarding what kind of media elements would make it more appealing to the audience (stock footage, still images, ambient sounds, etc.), along with continuing to think outside the box in terms of implementing various editing techinques.  I also need to do better with reducing the time it takes to decide what pieces of media content to use by planning ahead more.

I tend to be fueled by inertia. I need to periodically (and continually) assess the need for each deliverable. How are they performing? Did our brand or organizational goals change in a way that a deliverable is not as effective?

Continual assessment will ensure that we are sending the right content to the desired audences.

One thing that I should improve and consistently keep in mind is the business goal. I am a creative, and sometimes maybe too much, I like to convey emotions and can digress from the original objective of the content I am creating. Having a content creation framework, in that case, is particularly important, as it sets guidelines and creates a path that I can follow to stay on track.

Before I create a piece of content, I desperately need to understand how to juggle between the process of making the content (Planning, Creating) and Executing the Content (Editing, Publishing).

Overall preperation, organization and breakdown into stages needs to be clarified and executed. I often work as a one man operation so I work on the fly without proper documentation and naming. I am quicker to get to each next stage through this process, but as I go back at times I find myself needing to slow down and backtrack, which is detrimental to the process. As I transition into situations where I might be working within a team, I will need to consider these stages more carefully for the greater good of the projct.

I agree with you. To improve my content creation process, I am going to set a fixed checklist before starting any new project. This will help me stay organized, avoid mistakes, and work more smoothly with others. I believe a clear system always leads to better results.

Before I create my next piece of content, I will implement a process where I create the content in advance and send it to the people I am working with for their feedback. Additionally, I will create a content plan outlining all the ideas I want to test. This will help me determine which ones are most effective.

This lesson taught me the importance of understanding first what my message/story is before I can create a framework.  It serves as answering questions that haven't been asked or dealing with challenges before they occur.

Building trust is also important, and in every stage of the buying process, the prospect/reader should be communicated to. In order to improve my content creation process, I first need to define my story, look at my products and services and begin from there.
