How can you extend the value of your next piece of content?

I like to start by writing one blog post with 5 informative/educational talking points around dedicated topics. Record a short audio/podcast about using the blog post content. Then use each talking point as one daily post for social media or interactive video reels. That's five days of content.  Post brand-specific posts on the other two days and viola! You have a full week of content from one blog post. Last use hyperlinks to the blog post, and or podcast for the call to action and repeat.

- Images

- Audio

- Video

  1. Infographic: Creating an infographic allows you to visually represent key information from your blog post in a shareable and easily digestible format. It's perfect for social media platforms and can attract attention with its visual appeal.

  2. Video Presentation: Converting your content into a video presentation adds a dynamic element and caters to those who prefer visual and audio content. You can share this on platforms like YouTube and embed it in your blog post, providing a different way for your audience to consume the information.

How can you extend the value of your next piece of content?

Extending the value of your next piece of content involves repurposing it into various formats to reach a wider audience and maximize its impact. Here are some ways to repurpose content:

  1. Create Infographics:

    • Summarize key points and statistics from your content into visually appealing infographics. This is especially effective for content with data or step-by-step processes.
  2. Podcast Episode:

    • Convert your written content into a podcast episode. You can discuss the main points, share additional insights, and engage with your audience through a different medium.
  3. Video Series:

    • Transform your content into a series of short videos. Break down the information into segments and use visuals to enhance engagement. Platforms like YouTube or social media are ideal for video content.
  4. Slide Deck for Presentations:

    • Adapt your content into a slide deck that can be used for presentations, webinars, or workshops. This is an excellent way to share your expertise in a visual format.
  5. Social Media Posts:

    • Extract key quotes, visuals, or short snippets from your content and share them as individual posts on social media. This not only promotes your content but also generates engagement on different platforms.
  6. Email Newsletter:

    • Summarize your content in a newsletter format, emphasizing the most valuable takeaways. Include links to the full piece for those interested in a deeper dive.
  7. Interactive Content:

    • Turn your content into interactive quizzes, polls, or assessments. This not only engages your audience but also provides a unique way to present the information.
  8. Ebooks or Whitepapers:

    • Compile multiple related pieces of content into a comprehensive ebook or whitepaper. This can be offered as a downloadable resource, capturing leads and establishing authority.
  9. Webinar or Live Session:

    • Host a live session where you discuss the content in real-time, answer questions, and engage with your audience directly. This can be done on platforms like Zoom or through social media live streams.
  10. Guest Posts or Collaborations:

    • Reach out to other bloggers or content creators in your niche and offer to adapt your content for their audience. This cross-promotion can introduce your content to new readers.

By repurposing your content into different formats, you not only extend its value but also cater to diverse audience preferences and consumption habits.

I've been repurposing content for quite some time but never with this level of intention and organization. I look forward to making future repurposing more intentional.

I started simply by blogging about my travels and the places I've enjoyed while traveling.  Much of it focused on the food and drink I encountered.  Now, I've realized ways I can repurpose these travel blog posts.

- Reorganize the content into a series of ebook guides

- Create infographic maps of the places I've visited

- Start a video series with reviews of the food and drink I enjoy

- Start an email campaign with "insider/off-the-beaten path" information about the locations

I publish case studies on a public company website about a specific B2B product that our customers use. When initially published, the case studies are pushed through at least our Social Media channel via LinkedIn. A few ways that this content can be repurposed is by using the case study link as a CTA in our next product blog post or on our product web page. The case study can also be broken down and snippets can be used as sub topic content material

To extend the value of my next piece of content, I plan to take a multi-faceted approach. Firstly, I'll repurpose my content across different platforms and formats. Transforming an insightful blog post into engaging social media posts, infographics, or short video clips will not only broaden my content's reach but also cater to diverse audience preferences. Additionally, I'll leverage the power of email marketing by creating newsletters or exclusive content updates to keep my audience informed and engaged. I'll actively encourage audience interaction through comments and discussions, fostering a sense of community around my content. Regularly revisiting and updating my content will ensure its ongoing relevance and alignment with any emerging trends or new information. Lastly, I'll analyze user engagement data to understand what resonates most with my audience, guiding my future content creation for even greater impact. Through these strategies, I aim to significantly enhance the longevity and influence of my content.

Social media posts: Extract quotes, statistics, or interesting facts from your blog post and create social media posts for platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Use engaging visuals or videos to accompany the posts.

I love the idea of creating a checklist from old content. It is a great way to make yourself into a useful tool for your readers. Also making vlogs from blogs or making written content into an infographic seem to be great ideas as well.

I can take advantage of old content to reuse it as follows. An example of that content is a blog post. I can refer back to that content to create content in the form of images, videos or an interview around that topic to post on the website and social networking platforms. Optimize content to make it more effective and relevant to trends at each time.

If it was up to me, I would add visuals related to the written piece of content. For example, if my content is a blog post, the visuals would include pictures or videos. I might also adjust the content to be suitable for other social media platforms, like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter.
