I added a custom module to my blog posts in order to provide custom "preview copy" used on the listing page. The copy does not appear within the post content itself, its used on the blog listing page. I'd like to use the content from this "preview copy" as the description for the RSS feed, but don't see any way of doing that.
I do this with rich text and text modules all the time but not with custom modules, its possible though. You need to look at export_to_template_context. once you set the module to export to the tempalte you will have to pull in it's content using data tokens like in the example.
