I recently used the hubspot software to design a brand new website for my domain. I successfully connected my domain and published the site, but nothing changed. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or missing a step. If it matters, my domain provider is hostinger.
@JBullock0 if the solution provided by @Jnix284 doesn't work (though this is a good bet), then it might be down to a something else:
Your browser's cache - your browser may have saved an older version of the website that it's serving to you and not registering the new update (to test if it is this, open your domain in an incognito browser - if it displays correctly there, then this is the issue). If it is the issue, you can resolve it by clearing your browser's cache or simply waiting (your browser will eventually re-cache the new website.
Faulty DNS records - if HubSpot states your domain is successfully connected, as you've stated, then this shouldn't be the issue. But a common DNS issue with connecting domains to HubSpot is to ensure any periods/full-stops are removed at the end of the values of DNS records.
As Jennifer mentioned, if you share more details about the domain in question and a screenshot/s of your set up, that might help to provide more accurate solutions.
I tried all of the solutions you both gave me, but unfortunatly they didn't work. I am thankful for your guys's help, though. The domain name is eighteenxviii.com. The website is currently running, but it is still as the old layout. I also provided a few images of my hubspot settings/set up.
Hi @JBullock0 - Sad to hear this! But we're not done yet. There are some other things that we can still look at, but the most likely culprit at this point would be to ensure your DNS points only to HubSpot.
If the old design is still showing, did you create this on a separate CMS (i.e. outside of your current HubSpot)? If so, you'll need to delete whatever DNS entries were put in place when you created the older design on a different platform - I would delete all A records in your DNS management and enter only the ones that HubSpot gives you.
If that doesn't work, then feel free to organise a 15min call with me at this link and we can troubleshoot: https://meetings.hubspot.com/brad465
I want to start this message with apoligizing for the late reply. I was having a long issue with my domain/email provider not lettting me reach my account. That is the updated site and im happy to see it working! I changed the slug like you said so hopefully it will work from now on.
Hi @JBullock0 there are a few things you can check, this is the most likely cause:
Check for language redirect (enabled by default) - disable language specific redirects (unless you have a multi-language website, then we can troubleshoot further)
If that doesn't fix the issue, can you share your domain address and also a screenshot of the page settings showing the URL configured for the page you're using as the home page?
If my reply answered your question please mark it as a solution to make it easier for others to find.
