User adjusted quantities with payment links?!

resolver

Creating a payment link for a product is pretty straightforward (and a great new feature). However, we sell our products in per / user licenses and there doesn't seem to be a way to let the customer select how many of the licenses (products) they need.

This is a useless capability for us if the customer can't select their own quantity... hopefully I'm missing something here!

Hey @KevinWathey! We'll be opening up a beta for buyer selected quantities in the very near future, so if you'd like early access go ahead and DM me with your Hub ID and we'll ungate you!

Regarding promo/discount codes, this is indeed on our product and it's something we'll see in the second half of this year 🙂

User adjusted quantities with payment links?!

Hey Mike, sounds like this would work. I could make all the products "otpional" and let them choose QTY off my preset recommendation... but how do I do this?

I'm in payment editor.

  "Create Custom Line Item"

and then I go to item. Here are my options...

Note: I'm paying for starter plan so items list is locked out which is the alternate option

You should still be able to do this with a custom line item - you simply go into a line item and check the box under the "description" that says "Make this line optional". You can then choose "Allow customers to edit quantity".

Is there a date for this to be rolled out yet?

Also, are Promo/Discount Codes planned for the rollout as well?

Hi @EvanBlair - I'm the Go to Market lead for HubSpot Payments - glad to hear you are excited about HubSpot Payments!

Thank you for the feedback! That is very fair and a request we've heard from other merchants - custom quantities is on our 2022 product roadmap for HubSpot Payments - potentially coming as early as the first half of 2022.

Please let me know if you have further questions or feedback - I'd love to connect (mvittum@hubspot.com).

Thanks,

Mike

Hey @mvittum ,

I just saw this got added and it's great!

However, is there a  trick to enter "0" qty?

We sell wholesale and have 7 products (plus a line for shipping)

What I'd like to do is list out all 7 products and let the buyer choose the QTY (maybe in sets of 10), and in some cases, that might be "0"  (buyer only gets 1 of the 7 items in a qty of 500)

But, it seems to make a person always choose at least a QTY of 1. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Hi MDowgwillo! Glad to hear you are excited about the addition of buyer
selected quantities. At this time, buyer selected quantities can only start
at 1. I understand your use case though, sounds like you are attempting to
replicate a mini shopping cart without customers having to use a shopping
cart. It's an interesting use case especially for businesses with lots of
options that can be chosen at once. I'll add your feedback to the feature
request list.

One work around is using optional products - you can select a line item to
be optional allowing for the buyer to add it to the checkout summary on the
checkout page. It won't solve your challenge of 0 qty selection - but
someone could add one product to checkout and then see your other products
for them to add before completing checkout. I added a screenshot below for
reference. Please let us know if you have any questions!
