The standard invoice template is very limiting, and it can be frustrating to have no control over how it looks, what's included (or not included), and etc.
For example, traditionally we have our mailing address as well as a contact email and contact phone number at the top of our invoices.
The invoicing tool doesn't allow for this at all.
The quote tool allows for custom templates, and extending quote template customization to the invoice tool seems like a logical next step that would solve some other problems I've also seen among customers on these forums.

Custom Invoice Templates

@MariusW click on your profile picture in the top right corner of your portal, and then select "Product Updates" from the dropdown menu; this will display a page listing all recent updates. You can use the filters on the right to list only the updates in BETA and you should be able to see it there. It is called "Preview and customize invoice emails". You may be required to have Commerce Hub enabled to see it...sometimes that's a thing. Hope that helps.

I posted this over a year ago. The quote tool — which ostensibly invoices are based on — has custom templates and have for a long time. Why the invoice tool doesn't also have it is incredibly frustrating. This would fix a lot of problems in one, allowing the template to be a vector for refinement.

Can the request please be reopened. This is not about invoice mails, but about the fact that the invoice template can be configured similarly to the quote templates. From our point of view, for example, it is extremely important to display the SKU on the invoice, which is currently simply not possible.
Hi, if I understand correctly, this only applies, when you are using Hubspot-Payment (US-only) or Stripe. So no native templates for comapnies not using the only payment-provider available?
I desperately need the ability to customise Invoice templates as it is a requirement here in Switzerland that we include a bank QR code within the payment slip at the bottom of the invoice to allow customers to pay using their banking apps. If it was possible to customise the HTML, similar to the Quotes, then I could programmatically add this.
When are we going to get full HTML editing for Invoice templates?
Knowing that in France, when publishing an invoice, if certain information is missing a company can be fined on all invoices without the mention, I find it crazy that we cannot provide more modification and enter into law using HubSpot
So I wanted provide some hope here... There's a new Private Beta that you can request access to giving you the ability to Configurable invoice presets. While it doesn't exactly address the specific concern of the invoice templates, from experience, this is likely a step the product team might have to make before addressing the template.
It's important to keep in mind that there are some additional complexities around invoices we may not all be aware of. One I can think of immediately is the native 2-way integration with Quickbooks. Not a solve but hope it helps.

It's been a year since this discussion started, and I'm hoping we won't have to wait another year for such a basic feature.
The ability to customize the display and information on our invoices is vital for our business. We work with individuals, businesses, and organizations, and the level of detail required is not the same for each type of customer.
For example, we need to include a breakdown of different taxes if there are several. We also need to be able to display unit prices, totals, and subtotals in both excluding and including VAT formats, depending on the case.
While we can add custom fields, we cannot include specific information retrieved from associated objects such as the deal or the customer's VAT number.
This functionality already exists for quotes, so I hope Hubspot will prioritize implementing it for invoices soon.
we are trying to use HubSpot for invoicing as well. I appreciate you are listening and about to work on something.
In our case, please keep in mind:
- We do need about 4 different templates, as we different cases and different customer countries.
- Bank-account information are mandatory on the invoice
- It´s nice to have the Präfix for invoicing, but there has to be the possibility to cancle / reverse invoices. Right now we can only delete. That doesn´t work here.
Everything else on top (like connection with bank-account) would be nice to have but nothing mandatory. Topics written above are mandatory, no chance to use invoicing tool right now. Please, please update as soon as possible.
we need to add our bank account information otherwise our customers wont be able to transfer the money invoiced to them. This template makes no sense now. Please make it applicable for companies. Thanks
Please add customizable template for invoices, we want to add extra information that is not appropriate for the comment or terms comment box, thank you!
We want to work with invoices, but we can't, and we won't as long as we cannot change the template. Why is there a notes/comments field on an invoice for example that we can't get rid of?
It looks very unprofessional with these fields empty on an invoice. Please make it happen so that we can customize this.
