The standard invoice template is very limiting, and it can be frustrating to have no control over how it looks, what's included (or not included), and etc.
For example, traditionally we have our mailing address as well as a contact email and contact phone number at the top of our invoices.
The invoicing tool doesn't allow for this at all.
The quote tool allows for custom templates, and extending quote template customization to the invoice tool seems like a logical next step that would solve some other problems I've also seen among customers on these forums.

Custom Invoice Templates
SOLVE
@MariusW click on your profile picture in the top right corner of your portal, and then select "Product Updates" from the dropdown menu; this will display a page listing all recent updates. You can use the filters on the right to list only the updates in BETA and you should be able to see it there. It is called "Preview and customize invoice emails". You may be required to have Commerce Hub enabled to see it...sometimes that's a thing. Hope that helps.

✅ Was was this helpful? Great, mark it as a solution.
We have clients operating from within and into the Eu where more information is required to be listed on the invoice. Having partly sold hubspot on the basis that their existing billing systems could be switched of, it's disappointing that customisation is not available. Even the ability of addig a series of boxes similar to the comment box that can be re-named and have snippets or CRM company / contact / deal properties added would help.
I would stay away from hubspot it has so many bugs and the simple things are not consider for example if your business has two addresses you can't enter both this is so basic so I would suggest to look some place else.
So many clients keep asking for this functionality- a way to customize the invoice template AND the email template that is used when auto sending invoices from subscriptions.
It would be great to be able to do add the company (being invoiced) ABN details to their billing information? Rather than on the opposite side of the invoice.
At the bottom of the invoice it would be nice to be able to use the personalisation feature to pull invoice data like total amount to the text. We need to say something like: ' please be so kind to transfer [amount invoice] within 14 days to backaccount X with the reference [invoice number] as description.'
Thanks for the feedback so far. I've been chatting with some of you directly throughout the testing process and appreciate the time and input!
At the moment, the ability to add up to 4 additional custom fields is open to all users who are enrolled in HubSpot Payments or Stripe.
Following up on some feedback during testing - We're working on adding the option to remove the line about sales tax and fees, as well as the option to change the invoice label to "Tax Invoice" if required by regional regulations. We are aiming to have that ready by the end of June.
It's also helpful to learn what folks have been adding to the custom fields or to the comments at the bottom of the invoice - what I've been hearing so far include alternate addresses, payment terms, payment instructions, invoice type, and product details. This information informs how we approach future customization options. Does that list match what you would want to add to an invoice? What else would you want to add?
If anyone would like to discuss in more detail on a call, please don't hestitate to reach out.
It is extremely important. We are a contractor so it is required that we put our contractors license in the invoice by law. With the limited customization currently allowed, we would be breaking the law. In addition, the current customization (you can add 4 properties) is only allowed if you have hubspot payments or stripe set up. However, like most contractors, we do not accept credit card payments. Although it would be extremely efficent to use hubspot for invoicing, the current limitations makes it impossible for us to switch over.
Scratch that, A 30 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY... does anyone have recs for an app on the marketplace that I could use to invoice with... stripe is also kind of a pain
Let's get this fixed... you guys are like billion dollar company... I have more customization with almost anything and everyhting else... AT LEAST GIVE US SOME EXCUSE FOR YOUR REPRHENSIBLE PRODUCT!!!!
