Apply mandatory Tax Rates to products depending on country

I need a feature in Deals / Line Items / Quotes that makes the "Tax Rates" field mandatory for "Products and Line Items" based on the country specified in the deal. Currently, this feature is not available, and I am seeking a solution—whether through custom workflows or other methods—to ensure tax compliance by automatically enforcing this requirement depending on the deal's country.

When is this data being put into the system - is it when a Deal is created? Or when it's moved to a specific stage in your pipeline? 

Also, is Country a Deal property, or are you basing this on the Company property? 

Here's what I'm thinking... 

• UIf Country is a Deal property, can you make a dependent field (property) in the Create Deal Form that asks for tax rate based on the Country chosen? I'd make sure that Cpuntry property is a dropdown select field type to make it easier.
• If the property is needed at a specific stage, you could add it as a required property in the Deal pipeline at the required tage (like maybe the stage before closed won, or contrat sent, for instance).

Additinally, I'd add this to a post in the Ideas Forum here. Product managers do pay attention

Sorry for the late reply and here is my use case :

All we want to do is to make Tax Rates automated for quotes. Tax rates today are between the hands of sales rep. They can sell a product without tax rates since it is not a mandatory field and it is surely not automated.

We want that :

1. when a Sales rep chooses the country (Deal property/Dropdown Select), it would fill the tax rate on line items. ex: My deal is in France, when I add a line item to my deal, the tax rate will be automatically 20%.

2. Sales rep shouldn not have the option to clear the tax rate. It should be mandatory and not editable.

This feature is a deal breaker with my client. It's weird that as admins we can't setup mandatory fields in line items and quotes.

Hey @OussBnabd, happy Friday!

HubSpot doesn't natively support making fields like "Tax Rates" mandatory based on "Country." 

However, you can use workflows to notify users when fields are missing, create validation rules with deal stages, or use custom code actions in the Operations Hub to enforce such rules.
